Did you try the kext on post #1 to see if it works for you ? http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=18377

As soon as I get Patcher V2.00 out, I will make a lot more people happy. I can´t spend too much time answering individual/fixing cases as with the new version a lot more of you would be grateful. Lets hope I can get this one out as soon as possible. I still have a lot of individual codec info to fill in. Thanx

Yes, taruga i tried the kext on post #1(stac9227_83847618_testing.zip) and it didn't work, those are the screenshots after using it.

We understand. Thanks Taruga :(

You´re one of the several cases that have mute issues. I´m working on it at the moment and will be on v2.00 the fix for it. Not only for you, but for a lot of codecs also. Let´s wait, I have a lot of work left to do

I manage to make my SigmaTel HD 9200 working on a Qosmio Laptop.

Now, I don't know how I did it ;). I tried 1.18 and it didn't work.

I've tried then lower version 1.17, 1.16 and looking up into the about this mac I haven't seen anything on the audio entry. But when I go under the System Prefs I see that the sound has devices. The mic. volume I cannot control and I haven't tested yet.

So my question is, is this normal ? Not to see the devices under the About this mac ?

Thanks in advance,

Q

Yes Q. It is very normal.

I've never seen a Hackintosh, with sound working, and Integrated Audio listed.

Let's wait for v2.00. I'm conviced that there will be a lot of changes and good news for all of us.

But there are JJDuro. I think the ones that bios report to ioreg with HDEF@1B instead of for ex. pci8086,27d8@1B (example for ICH7)

Taruga, if you need any help with testing it for ADI 1988b just let me know... I'm not a noob like someone here yelling "plzplzplz!!!!!" so I can be useful...

(I have Leo 10.5)

Soon there will be a lot to test for all of you :P

Well, I think that it would be cool to have Audio listed on System info.

I just never saw it. Ok, Ok, I confess, haven't seen much hackintoshes :thumbsup_anim:

By the way, Taruga, great Donations Page

"By the way, Taruga, great Donations Page" - Thanks JJDuro, it was too simple with just the PP logo button.

Taruga Please read.

I have the Asus Maximus Formula MotherBoard. Its audio is the ICH9 category X38 chipset.

Audio is ADI 1988B 8-channel High Definition Audio CODEC.

There is a link you provide and I am not sure if this codec is the same as mine or not, AD1988B.txt?

If the one that is posted is for lets say the ICH8 family MB's then can I just modify the ID in that codec to get my audio to work or just get a codec dump from the Infamous linux command?

Then use your patcher v1.19 or 1.20?

Will your new version 2.0 with its new engine design work on the newer audio's like mine?

Thanks Taruga

V1.20 produces no output.

Very odd behavior: I have an Dell XPS 420 with a STAC9227 based chip 0x83847618. I have downloaded several codec dumps for this ID and also had one I generated from Linux. Trying patcher versions 1.16-1.19 produced no noticeable change.

On an off chance I read a post about using an older version (v1.13) that seemed to work for someone. So I download and try this version and my onboard sound works.

Unfortunately I wasn't paying attention and didn't note which codec dump I used. (Should have named them better to distinguish them.)

I wanted to find out which combination of patcher and codec produced the results so I figured, no problem I'll just try each combination until I find the working one.

Between every combination I removed the previous AppleHDA.kext and ALCinject.kext, rebooted, apply the next combination and then rebuild kext cache and then rebooted again before testing each version.

I was unable to reproduce the working version again. :P

Any ideas?

Fixed problem with v1.20 that was preventing it from running as it should, sorry guys!

I think there will be no more little/individual fixes for Patcher v1.xx, as I want to get v2.00 out as soon as possible.

hey taruga! thanks for all your work, u've done for us:) just wanted to know if the 1.20 version changes something about adi1986A chip. i have only one harddrive and only one partition- just like in real macs:) and can't afford to play with system and loose all the data. if u fixed the codec i will give it a try, if not i'll wait patiently:)

my specs in my sig:P

Edited by Taruga
No adi198x support right now with v1.xx . I´m busy with v2.00 that would bring support for a lot more, yours too I hope.

AppleHDA 1.20 worked but I get no Output or Input options on Sound Preference Panel, back to 1.16

I am thinkin in soldering the Internal speakers routed to the Headphones jack directly...

Edited by Taruga
Wait for v2.00, I have a lot to review/fix/include. Don´t solder anything! : P
