@pilsator: To get azalia back simply remove AppleHDA kext and get http://www.cheetha.net/Kext_Helper/Softwar...Helper%20b7.zip .

Then download+install AppleAzalia kext with this tool.

And Taruga simply needs a picture of the back of my computer, or what?

Thanks for the Azalia-hint! A computer without sound is a sad thing.

I'm not quite sure what Taruga meant. I thought a native english speaker with some technical understanding would know. Again, he said: "Also, if if show Internal Speaker, that is just the pinsetup that is set that way, it can be everything I wantWe just need to activate/review both speaker and headphone and would be fine.If possible post pics of both your sound inputs and outputs so I can see how it going..."

Mabe he is talking of the way the audio in/out pins on the board (if there is such a thing) are connected to the 6 audio sockets?

cheers, pilsator

Has anyone had any luck getting output in Leopard from an Abit AA8XE with the ALC880? I've tried some of the dumps available for the ALC880 and the patcher will say output is detected, but there is none. I've even made my own dump (which I've attached) and it shows nothing detected. So... if anyone can perhaps send some advice my way or even get some use out of my dump that'd be great. I'm just completely stumped at this point.

Thanks

Abit_AA8XE_alc880.txt

Is there any success with AsRock Conroe1333-Div or with Conroe 945?

It has Alc 888 and ICH7...

I had no luck trying with your patcher.

I believe i have the same exact ALC888 ICH7 chipset on my Acer ast180, I have managed to get stereo output on the back port of the motherboard using my ALC888 Ubuntu audio dump, but no luck on Headphone front ports and i have not tested Mic In yet, if anyone has any suggestions or tips at all i will love you forever!

My Output on Leopard 10.5.1 w/ Patcher v1.8 + AcerAST180 ALC888 dump = Line Out Stereo Working.

I will post a screenshot of my Sound Panel on Leopard shortly.

-jblp

for everyone that can use it. Here is my 9227 dump from an Intel dp965lt board. It works for me on leopard.

Well, your device id matches the Sigmatel 9227 on dell E520.

Unfortunately for me, using this with Taruga's v1.18 patcher in Leopard 10.5.1 creates a kext which loads, but does not show any output devices in sound preferences.

I'd like to do my own Linux codec dump, followed guide with no luck in Suse 10.3 64 bit.

My specs are on my sig if its a help to Taruga or anyone else.

The 9227 testing kext in post #1 works nicely for me in 10.4.10.

CMI8738 still gives sound output :).

I wouldn't want to copy what anyone else has already said, but i currently have the dell 6400/e1505 with sigmatel audio 9200

I DO have it sort of working with the hda patcher v1.15 and the 9200.txt (pretty much stereo sound...but no mute or anything else really)

Works in leopard.

I'm very available to test or to get some info back to you if you need it (unless you already have it then...don't need to send you redundant info)

Running the patcher(1.18 on a leopard) would generate

Hi Tchow,

Have you tried Taruga's Alfa or Alfa2 driver for ALC861?

These drivers need a small trick to work with Leopard. You need to get Taruga's latest patcher - v.18 - and a codec dump from your system.

Drag and drop you codec Dump on the patcher, and you'll have a working ALCinject.kext. Then, go to your Extensions folder and erase AppleHDA.kext and replace it by one of the Alfas. You can try both, but one at a time.

go to terminal

type

sudo -s

yourpassword

cd /System/Library/Extensions/

and

chown -R root:wheel AppleHDA.kext

chmod -R 755 AppleHDA.kext

Reboot

If you don't have sound, I suggest you get Taruga's Beta4some861/880_models, get the AppleHDa.kext file from there - forget ALCinject -, and drop it on the Extensions folder, after erasing the one you had there before. Don't forget to use the dump and the patcher as I wrote before and

cd /System/Library/Extensions/

and

chown -R root:wheel AppleHDA.kext

chmod -R 755 AppleHDA.kext

Reboot

If it doesn't work, then wait for Taruga's driver. I'll be out soon.

PS

Don't forget to erase Appleazalia.kext from the Extensions folder!

Hi Taruga

I have two computer. one is notebook another is desktop. Both sound card can't work. please help

Please pm me with how you got your Sigmatel STAC9271D to work.

Any news on the builtin Intel ethernet?

Thanx!

ok, that's easy.

First, you should download the STAC9271D_xxxx (http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=18344) in the first post, unzip it and place on your desktop

Then, replace 2 kext files in archived (just download) with current 2 kext files on your workstation (in my example, i just rename them for backup).

# cd /System/Library/Extensions/
# sudo mv -f AppleHDA.kext AppleHDA.kext.old
# sudo mv -f ALCinject.kext ALCinject.kext.old
# sudo cp -Rf /User/Yourusername/Desktop/AppleHDA.kext .
# sudo cp -Rf /User/Yourusername/Desktop/ALCinject.kext .
# cd /System/Library/
# sudo mv -f Extensions.mkext Extensions.mkext.old

Ok, it's time to reboot your system.

Test your speaker :thumbsup_anim:

Hope that help.

Hi b:z!

It works in Tiger 10.4.10 too!

Haha!

I have tried patching and even replacing kexts before, but it never worked for me for some reason.

I have also been tricked by my system profiler still now showing no builtin sound, but it works fine both at front and at back!

Thanx man!

Thank you Taruga and everyone else that have had a part in this! I love you all!

Now i wonder why system profiler does not show the builtin sound. haha

Any SMBIOS.kext that will fix this?

I have tried a few from uphuck and netkas so far. Then now all that is left to fix is the builtin Intel ethernetcard.

I have used the JaS 10.4.8 (still the best tiger dvd) that was then update with Koolkals 10.4.10 Comboupdate.

My system is built around the Intel DP35DP Media motherboard.

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.67Ghz

Ram: 4GB 800 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM

HD´s: 2 Samsung 500GB Spinpoint 166

DVD´s: Samsung DVD-RW-DL Burner SH-S183L

Graphics: NVidia GeForce 7900GS TOP (Factory overclocked)

XBench 1.3 gives me Mac Pro performance of close to 170

Some tasks even beats the real Mac Pro.

I love it!

OK. I will try again. Because I only drop two file into system/libraray/extensions. Only work on the speaking. Mic don't work. Even Alc861 or Alc 883 also. Also I have question. How to create dump text. Please tell me. how to do.

Thanks

Hi Taruga,

at first thanks for realy great job you've done here !!!

I've tried alc861testing (beta4some doesn't work) with my ALC861:

Vendor Id: 0x10ec0861

Subsystem Id: 0x11791205

Revision Id: 0x100300

and audio out works fine, but Microphone is set to full but I can't hear anything while/after recording (Skype, Audacity).

Any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks in advance and best regards,

fingerr.
