I am currently using these successfully on 10.14.1. They are already patched; so no need to run the script. Just install them using your favorite kext utility.

Awesome! - Thank you!! They work perfectly and have correctly enabled power management on my system.

Hi everyone! I'll be updating these days a friend's computer that I installed 5 years ago. It's running Mavericks and the idea is to upgrade it to High Sierra.

Motherboard and cpu are: Asus Rampage IV Extreme / 4820k CPU

I want to ask if someone with this motherboard could share their efi folder so I use it as a starting point or link me to a thread where most actual dsdt/ssdt patches are being discussed.

Ill share of course my final configuration just in case someone find it useful.

Thanks.

Thanks MK500, I've successfully upgraded from HS 10.13.6 to Mojave 10.14.1 and use the modify PowerManagement files. My CPU is behaving smoothly as in 10.13.6!!! I just need to get my USB3 ports to work and wait for the NVIDIA web drivers.

Hi all! has anyone tried this on 10.14.2?

I made a quick test but placed the 3 kexts in EFI/CLOVER/Kexts/Other. Didn't work.

By the way it was working fine up until 10.13.6.

I will post my results after further testing, just asking in case 14.2 needs "extra" care :)

Thanks for keeping X79 alive!

Hi!

I've placed this in S\L\E. It works in 14.2!

My 3930 has bad SpeedStep (temporary), but before this kexts - power consumption was 60-70 watts, after - 28 in idle mode. And coolers are slow down.

And by Cinebench R15 - power almost 130 watts.

EFI/CLOVER/Kexts/Other - i've don't try.

14.3 - works too!

10.14.4 works as well, be sure to update clover to at least 4862, to limit the pain

Ok i got it to work as well. on 14.2. I just copy paste the 2 kexts in L/E and run kext Utility. it was soo easy i can't believe i didnt try this earlier.

my problem is that i can't update further more. 14.3 anad 14.4 are resusing to install.

So guys can you please share you system specs in case i can use anything that may help me to upgrade?
Cheers

You are right, uploading clover, screenshots of L/E folder and verbose boot where it hangs.

System:
i7-3930k
GA-X79s-UP5-wiss

24GB DDR3 RAM

Sapphire RX 580 Nitro+ SE

macOS 10.14.2

Although i am not sure if it can be of any use, could you upload your clover folder to see if i can get any ideas?

Patches work for 10.14.5, but my Geekbench score. has dropped 12% single core, 32% multicore. ouch.

i am currently on 10.4.4. All works fine.

I downloaded the combo update for 14.5. and installed. All went fine but then i couldn't boot because of continuous panics. As far as i could understand it is a CPU power management thing but i wasn't sure. Since in your case the patches (and the kext i guess) work, this is good news. Could you share your steps (if any) before updating and which method did you use to update?(app store, update or combo update)

cheers

I had this too, due to a "can't set p-limit" error. If you're seeing this, and you're using a generated SSDT, you need to remove the DSM method from the SSDT. 10.14.5 is crankier.  Or generate a new one with ssdtPRGen.sh -x 0

Thanks for that!

so you mean the CPU SSDT, right?
So i will try disabling the XCPM as advised.

Which piker version did you use?

Yep, CPU SSDT. Whatever the latest version of ssdtPRGen.sh works for me. Also you can use clover p/c states generation and disable your custom ssdt and it should boot.

Hi everyone  been running pretty stable 10.14 up until last two updates 10.14.5 and 10.14.6.

I lost my Turbo speedstep,Only way to boot is with NullCPUPowerMandagement.kext. now.

tried various 10.10 to10.13 aicpmPatch.command pearl only method worked, up until 10.14.5.

I have speedstep but only up tp 330 cpu speed ,Turbo not working from NullCPUPowerMangement.kext

USB are working ok  GenericUSBXHCI,patched  SSDT.

would like to get OC working again enable turbo

board Intel DX79SR

CPU Intel 3960X

Crucial RAM 32GB

Mojave 10.14.6

I still can't update above 10.14.4 and i had basically quit. But 2 days ago i tried a fresh install of 10.14.6 on a spare ssd and it went fine! After adding all the kext patches from the first post and the two patched kexts from post 2645040, turbo and all is working fine! So this can give you some hope.
Usually fresh installs work best for me... but i am afraid my clover folder needs a little cleaning after 3 years of trial and error.  Especially this drivers folder....
So i don't know. you could try a fresh install in a spare drive. If it works you have a starting line.
Or else call the man ... MaLd0n .. :D

I have also updated stinga11's patch script. I used this script to update my just-updated-to-10.14.6 system, and it worked perfectly.

Thanks again @stinga11 !!!

Thanks for realizing that mistake. I fixed it.

Actually the right way is:

It's working. Sorry for the confusion, and thanks again.

Guys, i managed to get passed my 1680 v2 panic and got it working using a DSDT made for a 2687W v2.

Strange thing is that power management seems to work fine, without using AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext or nullcpumanagement.kext. I also haven't setup the patches from this topic.
Should i use the kext( AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext) and the patches ?

is there a way to check if it is working better with or without?
