I'm so excited.

This Dell 9300 Inspiron notebook is Pentium M SSE2, and I reached single user with mifki's version (8.1.1).

Maybe I don't have to throw out this notebook after all. I'm hopeful...

I'm doing this to try out omni's Titan driver.

My camera sucks. Hope you can make out text.

I'm hopeful for SSE2, too. Maybe you can even release a DVD :P

10.4.4 no patches.

Official 10.4.8 update combo.

mifki's kernel (SSE2 version).

O.K?

I think my laptop has HPET. BIOS doesn't say anything about it tho'

Dont you mean 8.8.1?

I'm looking to update too...but I cant find it anywhere. Can you point out where we can get this?

Laptops are having more success over desktops for some reason.

in order to reach gui, you need to have a way of emulating sse3 instructions from userland and/or pre-patched applications stripped of sse3 instructions, correct? Might I inquire what route you are taking? I have been doing my own research on emulating the sse3 instructions in the kernel, but its rather slow work. I would love to collaborate on this and/or help you test if you need it.

This thread has been closed on the basis of the Mifki kernel is very old.

If you want to run 10.4.8, please just run the Semthex kernel or the mifki (as an install option) avaliable on the JaS DVD installer for SSE3.

There is a lot of misinformation about the 10.4.8 kernel and the installation method out right now, and it would be best to wait until we have a stable, realy to go DVD.

Come to irc.macspeak.net #jas.dvd for more information.
