Xslimmer is a new, fun way to size down your Universal Binary apps, without losing any of their functionality. How is this possible?

It is achieved by removing the code inside the Universal Binaries that does not fit with your machine's architecture, a code that never gets executed and just wastes your disk space.

Want to see for yourself? Grab your copy of Xslimmer now and try it out for free until you free up to 50Mb.

Xslimmer removes the PPC or INTEL archatecture from apps, and lowering its size.

i tried xslimmer, it was very simple, but not free.

there are several freeware apps that do the same thing. the one i now use

is safe. DownSizer 0.1.1 his site has tips on what programs don't work well

with stripping, and changing default language etc.

14.3MB after also removing iTunesHelper and Help files. cause i don't have an iPod,

and i don't need help. as an aside, i'm never updating to iTunes 7, i find it a mess.

Can they all (xslimmer, DownSizer and TrimTheFat) be used on PPC?

Also how safe are they?

So it removes excess junk from apps and the overall system?

They say Xslimmer works on both, but I only tried it on an intel mac, it only removes access "fat" from UB applications, not the system

I'm confused.

How can it work on PPC and Intel if it only removes "fat" from Universal Binary appz?

Surely that would mean it works on Intel only as only Intel uses UB appz?

TrimTheFat works on a PPC Mac (because I use it on a PPC model and it trims nicely)

Does it remove the excess from the appz or the system too?

I've got an old G3 with a 10GB drive. Ideally i want to be able to remove excess from the appz and the system safely.

It's not removing apps, only trimming parts that would not be used by either/or,

It works for both if you have UB programs, if you use only PPC apps theres nothing to trim :pirate2:

You can remove all excess languages from all your apps, help files etc, as well as removing all the archs from UB that you dont need, even from the system. Be careful though if you accidently have it remove the architecture your using, bye bye Tiger O_o.
