Congratulations to both of you guys, Bronya and Takiguru! That was fast

Unfortunatelly in my case (I don't know why) these two kernels are not working on my specs.

Bronyas kernel stuck on IOBluetoothHCIController Search for Transport Event Time Out Handler — missing Bluettoth Controller Transport! for about 5minutes and the installation window starts. I can move the mouse but I can not click anything, I need to use my keyboard to begin the installation. Installation is stopping after about 15minutes with no progress with error of Essentials.pkg package corruption.

Whole installation is like in slow motion - the mouse is moving veeeeeeery slow - I think it is the problem with my GT640 (working OOB on Mavericks).

On Takiguru's kernel - the same hang on IOBluetooth... but no installation window - only spinning wheel.

Propably there was some mistakes when I made an USB Installer so I will do it again and report everything - so it's my fault for now guys

I got stuck in booting after installation too, then modified IOPCIFamily of yosemite as for mavericks and it worked fine for my GT640.

Hi guys, do these kernels require SSSE3-capable CPUs or can SSE3-capable CPU load the kernels too?

Unable to use Safari, very much times page crashes and reloaded

Unable to create screenshot. Screenshot was created but when opened it is just blank space.

Unable to use iCloud, on 10.9.5 use it without problems. Made it with same Duran's manual, but anyway need to enter password and then no error displayed, just don't work.

Unable to use App Store, just blank empty page loaded. But log in to account successful. Successfully update iTunes to latest version.

Everywhere see graphics bugs with icons, cursor.

Same problems as me exactly.

However I got iCloud to work but only on my secondary iCloud account, on primary it stays stuck on setting up iDrive and needs to verify password.

UPDATE:

It worked on my old Athlon II X2 CPU! Bronzovka's latest kernel, I mean. The reason for the previous failed attempt was I was using the createinstalmedia command to make my USB installer, and despite this method getting along quite well with my other hacks, It won't work with an AMD CPU. Just recreated the installer using a conservative manual method, the one from Rokinron's in the tutorials section, and all went well. Cannot report about glitches right now, because I use the HD5450 and I need spare time that I don't have at the moment to enable QE/CI for it, but will surely test and report ASAP. Way to go, Bronzovka!

I cant build at all with macports in Yosemite, it requires xcode 6.1 but 6.1 fails to build. anything above 5.0.2 failed to build in Mavericks.
anyone have a solution?

but I want to use Yosemite now. I have no problems in Mavericks, I didnt mind using xcode 5.0.2.

other than the few bugs others and I have pointed out earlier and the fact that I cant build, Yosemite is perfect on old AMD cpus.

but dont get me wrong, not being able to build and no app store are pretty big issues...

they're kernel issues, I guess we'll have to wait and see if anyone can figure it out. djpvd already suggested a fix for the buggy graphics :thumbsup_anim:

BTW for old cpus, for now if you want to take screenshots, change the format to BMP: defaults write com.apple.screencapture type BMP

creates a heavy file but at least works. no other format does.

Finally had time to do some testing. Severe graphics glitches, in fact even before enabling QE/CI for my HD5450. Reminds me of early ML development for AMD. All in all, If you use an old AMD CPU (pre-Bulldozer) and want to use OS X to do something other than kernel experiments, I recommend waiting for an updated kernel or staying with Mavericks.

To all: this is the kernel testing topic. It's meant only to report if and how the released kernels work on our machines. I started to delete without previous notice anything not related to it: posts asking or giving help with installation and post installation issues, benchmarks, casual chatting etc. Count on you guys and gals for keeping this topic clean.

Hi guys, do these kernels require SSSE3-capable CPUs or can SSE3-capable CPU load the kernels too?

It works with non-ssse3 CPUs. With serious graphics glitches, but it does work.

Further testing (will update this post as soon as I finish each test):

HD5450 - works with glitches (artifacts);

HDMI audio - fully works;

Realtek 8111 - fully works with Mieze's driver;

Realtek 8139 (onboard) - not tested, used to work with specific drivers from Mieze;

Optiarc DVD player and recorder - not tested;

Migration Assistant - fully works;

Reboot and shutdown: works fully, shutdown time is instantaneous, boot time a little longer than I'd like but it's ok;

Sleep and wake - not tested, used to work fine with Mavericks w/o extra kexts, so I expect it to work;

MPlayer X - not tested;

Netflix (and thus, Safari and MS Silverlight) - not tested;

Looking good with Bronya's kernel on legacy Intel Paxville dual-core Xeon

It's booting the installer and appears willing to install Yosemite (on non-AHCI SATA I disks)! Sleep & Wake even work in the installer!!! :D
