Templeton Peck
Whether you've knowingly built a Hacintosh around a GMA900, or just got sucker-punched , It does appear that a WWDM driver will be released "shortly" for the GMA900. Validity-wise, on a scale of 1-10, I'd rate this a cautious 7. Remember, it is just a post in the Intel forum, and as such, one hand might not know what the other is doing, so take it for what it's worth. bluedragon1971
Would be nice, but I'm not getting my hopes up. Although the fact that some GMA900 systems were sold as "Vista Ready" may legally REQUIRE Intel to make the driver.
Templeton Peck
Even if they don't release the driver, there's a good chance somebody will hack the 950 driver to work with the 900, given that the 900 is essentially a lower-clocked 950. That probably won't happen until Vista ships, however.

Templeton Peck
Really, I didn't know that. If that's the case that means M$ is officially lying about what cards support aeroglass. A Windows Vista Premium Ready PC includes at least:1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor1. 1 GB of system memory. Support for DirectX 9 graphics with a WDDM driver, 128 MB of graphics memory (minimum)2, Pixel Shader 2.0 and 32 bits per pixel. 40 GB of hard drive capacity with 15 GB free space. DVD-ROM Drive3. Audio output capability. Internet access capability. If the GPU uses shared memory, then no additional graphics memory is required beyond the 1 GB system memory requirement; If the GPU uses dedicated memory then 128MB is required. Lostgame
The 950 has been the single biggest pain in the ass I've dealt with, as far as a video card is concerned. Support is just random for software, you never know what's going to work, or not going to work...
Matix X2
The Pre - Windows Vista RC1 contain the Intel Lakeport Graphics WDDM Driver that works to enable Aero If someone could extract it of Beta 1 or 2. RC1/RC2 and RTM with the Intel 915 could support Aero

RC1/RC2 and RTM with the Intel 915 could support Aero Not only will it not work, because the driver was designed before substantial changes to the layer were made; the GMA 900 would not have worked on the new Aero now, as it required Pixel shader 2.0, which the GMA 900 simply does not support. RC1/RC2 and RTM with the Intel 915 could support AeroI've heard the Longhorn Intel Lakeport Drivers would work, so I tried them. I pulled out my old Vista Build 5384.4 (32-Bit) DVD and started zipping the drivers. I tried them on a Vista Retail DVD (32-Bit), but they don't work. All I get is an unbootable, frozen computer with Vista installed. Although some report success, I am unsure if this will work for others. Anyway, here are the Intel Lakeport WDDM drivers: http://www.pirateshare.net/?id=4095432 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=G4FZE4JA http://depositfiles.com/files/756540 http://rapidshare.com/files/24865234/Intel..._WDDM_.zip.html http://www.MegaShare.com/146092 http://www.sharebigfile.com/file/136297/In...-WDDM--zip.html I tried docdocdoc9's ripped beta drivers but they didn't work either. I refreshed my Windows Experience Index of 1.0 and still get a new score of 1.0. This was tested on a Vista Retail DVD (32-bit) on an eMachines T5010. docdocdoc9's Vista Beta 1 DVD Build 5308: Ripped GMA900 Drivers: http://www.pirateshare.net/?id=4098699 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=HHCPTXZF http://depositfiles.com/files/753263 http://rapidshare.com/files/24865813/ialmnt5.zip.html http://www.MegaShare.com/146098 http://www.sharebigfile.com/file/136304/ialmnt5-zip.html If none of the links work or are outdated, send me an email: dawpa2000 at msn dot com. I'm doing that and testing it right now.
