Everything works nicely but no good power management here ! just get low coeff x8 and high x34 plus turbo x35,x36,x37 ?

reading the thread i see that the problem seem to be not so simple

I can't manage to compile DSDT to get rid of AppleCPUPowerMnagement and HDAEnabler

it would be nice, if someone could post edited one

I have the same setup for my hack, and am having the same exact issue.  The only difference is I am using an SSDT instead of HDAEnabler1.  I am also using SSDT created by Pike's script, but it doesn't seem to work.  Smbios is MacPro 3,1.

 

Any thoughts or pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated

same here. but mine was just due to XHC. After checking syslog, it started last December 18th, 2013. My last change was the update to 10.9.1 perhaps some of the kexts (mine USB 3.0 specifically) needs to be updated. not sure.

After some isolation, it seems that the Corsair H100i USB Link which was attached to the USB2.0 header of the board is causing the sleep issue. Not yet sure how to resolve this without removing the USB Link.

I am having the same issue I think, it seems like the USB2.0 header is waking up directly after going to sleep.

Wake reason: XHC

 

Did you find anything more on this?

Don't use a MacPro 3.1 Smbios.

After some fiddling I managed to get one additional CPU P-State : 8 17 35 36 37 38 39 on my Z87X-UD3H with i7 4470k.

I'm using a MacPro6,1 Smbios.

AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext isn't even loaded. Haswell uses XCPM.

After some fiddling I managed to get one additional CPU P-State : 8 17 35 36 37 38 39 on my Z87X-UD3H with i7 4470k.

I'm using a MacPro6,1 Smbios. 

 

Thanks...   Will try that soon.  I also heard/saw something about using an iMac smbios.  Does anyone know if it has any benefits?

It's the closest match CPU wise. You can easily try one with Chameleon wizard and see if it makes any difference. 

Mind if I ask a question? Did Pike"s SSDT script also generated P-States for 2 CPU's for you? CPU0 and CPU1

Any special reason you are using AHCI_3rdParty_SATA,GenericUSBXHCI,IONetworkingFamily kext?

Can you specify fast boot revovery in DSDT? Thanks.

really fast boot now, i had to wait for 2 minutes before boot with HDAEnabler1

AppleIntelE1000e is inside IONetworkingFamily.kext ;
edit : no more 
GeneriCUSBXHCI for all usb2 devices to work properly on every ports
AHCI_3rdParty_SATA just cosmetic one i suppose ?

EDIT : yes! no need of patched AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext 
seem to be necessary to have patched one or DSDT HPET edit in order to get proper sleep behavior

I found some interesting thread which is perfect for me since I own the same MB.

I'm stuck after installation since system doesn't boot except with particular condition.

 

Conf:

Z87X-UD3H

i7-4770K

Dual ATI R9 - 280X  (connected with crossfire)

 

edit:  

used the BIOS settings as first thread

used latest svn 2377 for bootloader

/edit

 

I couldn't use the ATI for installation. I did use the onboard intel GPU.  Installed kext as attached v.1.3

First system boot hang without a kernal panic.. it just stops.

 

I can only manage to boot completely in Safe mode....   

From there I see the 2 ATI cards are recognized ( as Radeon 7xxxx )

 

If I disable the intel GPU and move my monitor to the first ATI card (pci slot 1) I see that system boots but when it switch on 'graphics mode' it end up with a black screen.

I also tried the DSDT present in some post in this thread. Still no luck.

 

Any suggestion?

Hi... just want to tell you that was something related to bootloader...

I tried a different one (the other) and the internal gpu was injected correctly... full resolution without any boot option.

 

I went one step further and I tried clover...

Configuration is pretty easy since this mobo doesn't need anything... 

 

Boot time is around 7 seconds including mobo boot.. simply amazing!

 

Unfortunately I have introduced a little issue... sleep doesn't work

Will keep looking to solve that.

 

Anyone successful with clover to sleep?

I'm using Clover. It is working very well. I don't use the integrated graphics though. I have them disabled and am using an Sapphire HD6870 instead. It just works, I didn't have to do anything. The only kext that I have in the EFI/kexts/10.9 folder is the ethernet kext from this thread. The audio I managed to get working with Clover kext patching but then about 30 seconds after waking from sleep the audio stops working. I was reading that it might be a bug with 10.9.2 as people with real iMac's are experiencing it to. I managed to resolve it by putting the 2 audio kexts from this thread in S/L/E. Sleep and everything work fine. I did notice that when pushing the power button to go to sleep, you need to kind of give it a good press where you hold it down for about half a second. If you do it too quickly nothing will happen. For best results, just use sleep from the Apple menu.

I had to do "Inject Kexts" "Yes", I found that it wouldn't inject with any other setting.

 

I am using MacPro3,1 smbios.

 

Oh, and I made a typo, the path for kexts is /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.9 (I'm sure you had the write path since the folders are generated during install)

 

Make sure that you have the network kext installed, even if you don't use the network card. The only other thing that I could think of preventing sleep would be your video card. Maybe test with them taken out of your computer.

I believe that SpeedStep is working perfectly with Clover.

 

My CPU is going as low as 800MHz and seems to be stepping fine.

I honestly didn't do much, Clover is magic! :D I even have a recovery partition and used it to perform a Time Machine restore off of my server (Fedora using Netatalk).

I honestly didn't do much, Clover is magic! :D I even have a recovery partition and used it to perform a Time Machine restore off of my server (Fedora using Netatalk).

 

BTW, I have a Z87X-UD3H and i5 4670K running the latest 10.9.2

I have BIOS F7, Optimized Defaults, nothing changed except for boot order and I made it UEFI boot only though you don't really need to do that at all.

 

HWMonitor (ignore the 128 degree SSD, it's not on fire, the SSD doesn't have a temp sensor and the firmware just reports 128):

Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H Mavericks 10.9.2 Clover Guide

 

You can actually test out Clover on your current Chameleon install, just download clover and skip steps 3, 7, and 8. The idea is to get Clover working well on a USB and then when that is all fine, install it to a HDD. I am not sure if you can install it over Chameleon, I just formatted my HDD and did a fresh install to be safe.

 

1 - Before You Start

- You need a working Mac or Hackintosh

-  Download Clover: http://sourceforge.net/projects/cloverefiboot/

-  Download Mavericks from App Store.

-  Make sure you have a 8 GB or greater USB stick

 

2 - Prepare USB stick

- format, 1 partition, Mac OS Extended (Journaled), call is “Clover”

- make sure you click Options and pick GUID Partition Table

- Click “OK” and then “Apply”

 

3 - Copy Maverick to USB

- open terminal and run:

sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Clover --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app --no interaction

- it will take a while, make sure that it completes successfully and you see “Copy Complete” and “Done”.

 

4 - Install Clover to USB

- open the Clover installer that you downloaded earlier

- Continue, Continue, **MAKE SURE YOU CHANGE INSTALL LOCATION***, pick your USB as the install location

- Click Customize

- check “Install for UEFI motherboards”

- in Drivers64UEFI subsection choose “CsmVideoDxe-64” and “OsxAptioFixDrv-64” <- this one is most important

- Click Install

- Make sure you see “Installation Complete!”

 

5 - Copy a few things to the USB

- Copy “AppleIntelE1000e.kext” and "FakeSMC.kext" from the first post into “EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.9” on your USB drive

- Copy Clover installer to the USB

 

6 - Configure Clover

- Edit “EFI/CLOVER/config.plist” (you may want to make a backup of the file before editing it)

- look for “<key>InjectKexts</key>” and make sure the next line is “<string>Yes</string>”

 

7 - Install OSX

- reboot your computer, make sure that your USB stick is in a USB 2.0 port, it won’t show up if it is in a USB 3.0 port

- keep tapping F12 as your computer is turning on until the boot drive selection menu appears

- choose the entry for your USB drive that has “UEFI: “ in front of it, very important!

- *I found that sometimes my UEFI entry wouldn’t show up, what I had to do was plug in another USB drive and I guess the extra delay of that drive allowed the first to be properly detected

- the clover boot menu should now appear, if you are just testing clover and not doing a fresh install of OSX, choose your OSX drive to boot

- if you are installing OSX, choose the “Boot OS X Install from Install OS X Mavericks” option

- the installer should boot fine, go to Disk Utility and format the hard disk that you will be installing OSX onto, choose 1 Partition, call it “Mavericks” or “Macintosh HD” or something that you will remember, click “Options” choose “GUID Partition Table”, click “OK” and then “Apply”

- during install OSX will create the hidden EFI and Recovery partitions

- Quit Disk Utility after the format completes

- Click “Install OS X”

- “Continue”

- “Agree”

- Choose the drive that you just formatted (Mavericks or Macintosh HD or whatever you called it)

- Click “Install”

- Once it reboots, boot off of your USB again

- At the Clover boot menu, highlight “Boot Mac OS X from Mavericks” (or Macintosh HD or whatever you called the drive when you formatted it) and then push the space bar

- Select "Boot without caches"

- Mavericks should boot fine and complete the installation, the network interface may not work at first, just complete the setup and choose that you don’t have an internet connection.

- If you are at the Mavericks desktop, try rebooting from the USB and select “Boot Mac OS X from Mavericks” at the Clover boot menu again

- This time the OS should seem more responsive and ethernet should work, if not, open a terminal and type:

sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions

hit enter and then reboot into the OS again using your USB stick

 

8 - Install Clover to Mavericks Hard Disk

- Run the clover installer that you copied to the USB earlier (if not, redownload it)

- Follow the same steps as in Step 4 but this time choose the hard drive that you installed Mavericks to (this should be selected by default)

- Copy “AppleIntelE1000e.kext” from the first post into “EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.9” on your USB drive

- Copy config.plist from your USB to /EFI/Clover (*you may want to make a backup of the config.plist that is there already)

- Safely remove your USB stick

- Reboot, this time select the HDD that you installed Mavericks to and make sure it says “UEFI” at the begging of the entry you pick

- Clover Boot menu should now appear, choose Boot Mac OS X from Mavericks” (or Macintosh HD or whatever you called the drive when you formatted it)

 

YOU ARE DONE!

 

* Clover Configurator is a very good tool for editing the config.plist and also can mount the hidden EFI partition after install to HDD

 

- for audio, use the AppleHDA.kext and HDAEnabler1.kext from the first post and install them to /System/Library/Extensions/

 

* I used http://cloverboot.weebly.com as a reference when I first did this, though some steps are different now for the latest version of Clover (most notably, you must install clover to the USB stick AFTER copying Mavericks installer to the USB”

I noticed a couple of things in your screenshot from HWMonitor :

 

CPU Fan 720 rpm --> mine defaults to 1140 rpm so my CPU Cores temps are 20° C with CPU Multiplier x8 CPU Package 800 Mhz. Room temp is 18.3°C

CPU Package 792 Mhz --> mine is CPU Package 800 Mhz. If you have memory which supports XMP enable the profile in BIOS.

All values are zero yet you seem to have all P-States. Very strange. Don't get me wrong I'm glad you have em but it adds more confusion to the puzzle.

I've ran into a problem though, my computer reboots straight after when the login screen is supposed to start.

 

If I do a verbose boot from the clover usb stick and boot into my current mavericks install, it just straight reboots instead of bringing the display up.

 

I'm on a GA-Z87X-UD3H, running i7 4770k and my trusty old GFX gtx 260 with Intel gpu disabled.

 

Will try a repartition/reformat and remove Chameleon for a clean install tomorrow.

 

Edit:

Clover fails to boot my installer. I click enter to start OS X Mavericks Installer and instantly go back to the menu.

Thank you so much for an awesome guide!

 

I've ran into a problem though, my computer reboots straight after when the login screen is supposed to start.

 

If I do a verbose boot from the clover usb stick and boot into my current mavericks install, it just straight reboots instead of bringing the display up.

 

I'm on a GA-Z87X-UD3H, running i7 4770k and my trusty old GFX gtx 260 with Intel gpu disabled.

 

Will try a repartition/reformat and remove Chameleon for a clean install tomorrow.

 

Edit:

Clover fails to boot my installer. I click enter to start OS X Mavericks Installer and instantly go back to the menu.

Do you need the FakeSMC kext with Clover?
