Hi guys, tried to get a toshiba L750 (i3-380) to work and at last I got QE/CI working with your guide, great work indeed.

only issues I have...

- brightness does not work but i use the brightness slider app

- I installed some games but they lag too much, you see them in frames really, unusable.

Any idea why I get low fps? the system works nicely and QE is confirmed however I noticed that tests with intel hd gpu fail with GLview app.

Final cut opens and seems to work ok, youtube is ok, Logic pro works.

Thanks in advance for your great work, appreciated....

This IGPU isn't really meant for gaming, but gaming performance is better on Windows regardless of what specs you have on your computer. OS X is not really great for gaming as seen in some benchmarks. OpenGL Viewer fails if you are running a test higher than OpenGL 2.1. I'm not sure about your brightness issue, but reading the guide for Brightness for 1st Gen Intel HD Graphics might help. Usually its the DSDT that needs proper configuration so that OS X can recognize the brightness change.

Thanks for the quick reply, for the time being im truly satisfied with what i have. Got a satellite L750_201 for £115 & wasnt expecting to be able to run yosemite, i also enabled intel vtx & have win 8.1 in vmware fusion. Just need d lappy for logic pro x, well happy, 2moro ill try clone d hdd onto ssd to improve performance, will be impatiently waiting 4 somebody who can get d hdmi working...thanks.

I've had this same problem for years but I just haven't bothered looking into it since I don't use my hackintosh as a daily device. The problem usually comes from the DSDT but again every computer is different. That's my theory. The only other possibility could be is if you are using an Alternative FB. In the plist file the P-states is set to 0, but if I set this to 1, my computer freezes. Some people have sleep working but I'm not sure how they configured their DSDT or what FB they're using.G

Thank u for quickly reply, very appreciated!

I have another question.  Is your dsdt lession based on your Kexts(Those five kexts downloaded) or I just edit DSDT.aml file and use those original appleintel kexts from installation CD.

The DSDT section is separate from the Intel HD Graphics guide. Has nothing to do with the patched kexts. This is to get new people to fix their DSDT before patching it. Sometimes it is necessary to inject OS-Info for some laptops that use the Alternate FB kext. Having a patched DSDT makes this process easier.

But my HP DV6-3028TX laptop has a very strange problem. When I copy DSDT.aml into clover patched folder without using your 5 kexts, I can not boot into.  What I have to do is to first install your 5 kexts (maybe just FB kext is enought?)then boot. Maybe only FB kext(the other 4 kexts you provided not to use) and dsdt.aml will make it? I didn't try.

Hi!

Updatet my system to 10.10.1 and the IntelGraphicsFB doesn't work. Seems that it been changed. I tried to patched with the IntelHDpatcher but no success.

Any ideas or new patched one is out?

Edit!

Removed all the Intel kexts including 300, 400, and 500 series, updated the cache, rebooted and installed the kexts for 10.10 again using the latest kextutility, updated the cache, reboot and it worked.

One things I discovered was the new kexts from 10.10.1 has missing infoplist. That why when tried to patch, I got an error.

The kexts from 10.10.1 update are version 10.0.19, which are exactly the same. Apple hasn't touched these kexts for a while now. I won't be patching the exact same kexts.

right, when I tried to install the 10.10.1 update it won't boot any longer, did you first boot with -x into safe mode and then re-installed the patched kexts?

by the way I have cloned the hdd onto a crucial m100x sad and I now get 250mb/s in write/read, not bad but to expect as i only have sata2 support on my l750; it makes a huge difference anyway.

thanks guys, now just need to safely update to 10.10.1....

I new member here  ^_^

I've Installed OS X Yosemite in my laptop, All work well, QE/CI supported and any other hardware is compatible with kext.

But, I have problem too :

 - My Laptop is very lag when render 3D, such as Chess game, but works well on 2D rendering, I got 120FPS on [osu!] game.

 - I got [ boot0ss:error ] when booting, so I always boot with USB drive thats Installed Chameleon Bootloader.

 - Brightness always in optimal state, I wish there's simple solution

This my spec :

Compaq CQ41-210TU

 - Intel Core I3-330M 2.13GHz

 - 4GB RAM

 - Legacy BIOS

 - 120GB HDD

And this my laptop state :

 - Single boot OS X Yosemite

 - Using chameleon bootloader :

     - using bootflags [ -f kext-dev-mode=1 ]

 - DSDT is not patched [ This my original dsdt.aml extracted from linux Hope someone compiling DSDT for me http://goo.gl/YZtNl1 ] :thumbsup_anim:

 - Installed QE/CI kext with Normal, LW1, Framebuffer

Just finished  installing 10.10.1 on my gateway ID49C04h  notebook  (MB build in 2010)

after remove AppleIntelHDG* from SLE,  install and get it running in less than an hour.

But try to get qe/ci ,  take me a whole day.

Try patched FB, all 24 versions, no luck.

reinstall native  AppleIntelHDG*, get blank screen.

In VNC sessions,  discover Clover detect 0 vRAM.  (SAME problem with my gt630, which is fixed by set VRAM 2048)

with VRAM 128, in clover plist, still see zero vRam.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Now. switch to chameleon loader,

Chameleon installer log - Mon Dec  1 18:24:55 MST 2014

Installer version: 2.3svn 2510

get scrambled video.

remove native FB,
Install 10.9.4 working FB
add test-mode flag

<string>Yes</string>
<key>Graphics Mode</key>

<key>ShowInfo</key>

Boot up ok and get qe/ci.

for those people that has a working FB on 10.9.4,  may try the same thing.

I would prefer Clover. (if some one tell me how fix vram problem)

Note:  Chamelon will not boot USB HD on GUID partition HD (use Masterboot Partition)

I am running this and post this from an external USB HD.

Doesn't seems to be normal, the QE / CI is enabled? Opens the DVD player and on the Help menu, click Show Compatible Resources.

The video memory shows 0 in OpenGL Extensions Viewer its a normal.

It can also be your processor, do not know how the performance on a Celeron, but the Yosemite should be heavy for this processor ...

Is this considered as normal? everything seems to be working, transparency and such, but the interface seems sluggish at some places..

Thing is even when using an external USB DVD Player, the application keep telling me that there's no suitable DVD player..

Ok, try and return us if it worked.

In my DVD player is displayed "Compatível" (PT-BR), same as or compatible Supported in English, in its Géré this would be something like manageable in French?

Nope, going to try this right now !

Also, been able to run DVD App :

That'd be translated to Supported, as in the screenshot in OP :).

On sat morning, have some free time

Retest 10.0.19 patched kernel on Chameleon 2510.

I was connected to HDMI 1920x1080,  but found my patched  kext  one of the single link sections.

Did 2 other test,

A.  install 10.0.19 kexts on  osx 10.9.5

      only FB will load

10.0,19 FB  will work  on 10.9.5  (even console backtrace message is the same)

I am certain now,  FB never was changed from 10.8 to 10.10

B.  ReTest Patched 10.0.19 FB under Clover.

new Clover 3050 will not boot to boot screen.

    use Clover 2795.

1,   set intel inject = no

2.  set SMBIOS system id inject = No

3,  Copy chameleon smbios  plist info to clover

<key>SMBIOS</key>
<dict>
<key>BiosVersion</key>
<string>MBP61.0057.B0F</string>
<key>BoardSerialNumber</key>
<string>Mac-xxxxxxxx</string>
<key>Family</key>
<string>MacBook Pro</string>
<key>ProductName</key>
<string>MacBookPro6,1</string>
<key>SerialNumber</key>
<string>xxxxxxxxxxxx</string>
<key>SmUUID</key>
<string>00000000-0000-1000-8000-01020304058f</string>

</dict>

4. set fake id:
<key>FakeID</key>
<dict>
<key>ATI</key>
<string>0x0</string>
<key>IMEI</key>
<string>0x0</string>
<key>IntelGFX</key>
<string>0x2d108086</string>
<key>LAN</key>
<string>0x0</string>
<key>NVidia</key>
<string>0x0</string>
<key>SATA</key>
<string>0x0</string>
<key>WIFI</key>
<string>0x0</string>
<key>XHCI</key>
<string>0x0</string>
</dict>

add boot flags

<key>Arguments</key>
<string>-v  kext-dev-mode=1</string>
<key>DefaultVolume</key>
<string>YosemiteRel1</string>

Now i can use clover with patch kext with qe/ci

  • 3 weeks later...

hi guys, I think the 3d lag on games might be possibly caused by the fact that it uses apple software renderer instead of OpenGL, i am sure the intel gam has more than enough power to run most games, maybe not the kind of batman arkham but surely angry birds like game...seems also that benchmarks go bad and shows apple SR instead od OpenGL, hope somebody can figure out whats wrong with the kext or how to force intel hd instead of apple 3d drivers.

is it an issue with vram not set?

just an update, noticed that lets world 2 worked well no lag. Investigated about if the plist file had the key which I was looking for but found nothing...then explored the library folder (user/username/library/containers/) and found 2 files I then deleted:

com.apple.opengl.plist

com.nvidia.OpenGL.plist

fixed cache, permissions...rebooted with -v -f (just in case) then when back onto desktop I run those game which lagged (e.g. battle monkey, crash drive); I soon noticed the difference in fps...angry birds run perfect as well.

only thing I tried red crucible and it still lags however it is better (less lag);

hope a genius can gave an explanation soon...thanks

after upgrading to 10.10.1, and (updating the kext files as well) I got black screen, and vnc works.

Chameleon installer log - Mon Dec  1 18:24:55 MST 2014

get scrambled video.

remove native FB,
Install 10.9.4 working FB
add test-mode flag

for those people that has a working FB on 10.9.4,  may try the same thing.

I would prefer Clover. (if some one tell me how fix vram problem)

Note:  Chamelon will not boot USB HD on GUID partition HD (use Masterboot Partition)

I am running this and post this from an external USB HD.
