Hi @Slice I have no problem to install or update Ventura. Clover always chosen right volume as you says.

The problem is when I turn on : Clover don't choose automatically macOS Ventura installed. I forgot to tell you: I have a separate Windows disk. Maybe, I must hide it in config.plist (as I did before).

@5T33Z0 Correct. I format the disk and perform a clean install. Where I can find the new Volume UUID for the main Ventura volume (because I don't remember).

 

EDIT: Via Terminal, I get new Volume UUID for disk0s2 (Physical Volume). Same problem with Clover GUI  when I turn on.

Let's say that you enter around 9 sec. and you have the login window around 25 sec. If math is not an opinion ... that's 16 seconds in total ... a little different from the 3-5 you were saying

@Matgen84 Or: Clover Configurator > GUI > Custom Entries  > Volume has dropdown menu which lists all the volumes and their UUIDs.

He my freind read my comment I said Approximate 5 sec  I am not Chronometer

Sierra is more fast then Ventura maybe I make another video then you calculate for me

I also have a 2013 MacBook Pro and I can tell you without calculating that Clover is faster than my real Mac 👍

I don't doubt it ... But one thing to say is faster another thing to say boot in more or less 3-5 seconds ... Anyway let's close it here before Herve takes us by the ears 😂

You can get the UUID from Boot menu as well: highlight the entry and press space:

Thanks. It's the first UUID not Apfs file system UUID, not Apfs container UUID. That's right.

EDIT: It seems to be solved. Yesterday, I enter the new volume UUID, maybe BBedit don't save changes.  Few minutes, I copy-paste my Z390 config.plist at Ventura Destop, edit and save. At turn on, Clover select automatically macOS Ventura disk. 🙂

So I've read in the Clover Changes for the latest commit, that SMCHelper.efi has been removed and its feature is now integrated into Clover which enables to have SMC Rese feature. Then you state that in otder to fully utilize the new functionality, people need to use FakeSMC and not VirtualSMC since it doesn't have to same functionality. Does this mean that the SMC Reset only works when using FakeSMC?

Thank you for always continuing the hard development.

 

A new developer's beta has arrived.

There still seems to be an update hiding issue that could be attributed to the T2 issue.

Is it possible to fix it by the time the version comes out?
I'm not in a hurry, but it's nice that my favorite Clover is perfect.

 

Past versions of Ventura SSDs have been backed up entirely to the server.

If it takes a long time, I will update it with OpenCore and back up the SSD of the past version to the server.

 

What should I do now?

If you want to update then change SMBIOS to iMac18,1.

For models with T2 chip additional investigations needed.

I tested FileVault technology in Ventura latest using Clover and FakeSMC. All is fine!

Drivers set

For older Clover there must be SMCHelper, FirmwareVolume and AppleUiTheme. And for oldest Clover there can be required DataHubDxe.  Recent Clover included them all.

Later I also include AppleImageCodec protocol inside CloverX64.efi.

 

I tested also Authenticated Restarting

Type in terminal

sudo fdesetup authrestart

then enter password 

then it asked for User name and user Password

then reboot. In this case FileVault UI don't asked for password. It works, I tested.

@phi777 No, no. He was referring to OLDER versions of Clover (prior to 5142). For newer versions, OpenRuntime V12  is used, which he  placed it in a sub-folder with the corresponding number of the clover release it should load for.

We never do something that prevent 10.6 from loading we just didn't test it since 2012.
