It's just sending - I have no problems downloading, even a large queue of files over FTP.

 

What's strange to me is that if I I'm on another local box, remote connect to my the i350, and then pull files off of the i350 box, it will work fine. But if I try to drag files in Finder while on the i350 to another local machine, it will fail.

I use EXPI9301CTBLK Intel Gigabit CT Desktop Adapter Intel 82574L ethernet controller with ML own driver (edited plist) and WoL works ONLY from Sleep

On shutdown the power to the card is cut, so no WoL can happen

 

Ofcourse it is software (ML) fault, as same machine Linux booted works fine (WoL on shutdown, as the power to the card is supplied)

Max OS X supports Wake from Sleep only.

That is so sad! It must be software limitation (right?), as obviously the hardware (GA-Z77N-Wifi with Intel Gigabit CT Desktop Adapter) works perfectly fine if different OS is used to control it

I just wanted to report that I continue to have problems while uploading files (OSX 10.8.3, Motherboard: Z9PE-D16, 2 Xeons E5), I'm using the latest 4.1.2 update.

I would like to report the upload problem still exists with 4.1.2 kext, on 10.8.4

when upload data rate is high, the ethernet will just hang and require unplugging and replugging.

network utility shows no error package.

 

I hope this can be resolved.

 

The linux driver has been updated to 4.3, would hnak be free to update the port?

 

I am willing to bend backward to help (with my limited knowledge).

I have just uploaded the latest one (4.3.0).

It took relatively a long time to port, as the code base had changed more than before.

 

I did not do anything special, so it may still hangs when data rate is high.

 

Current build crashes if unloaded. By the same reason, max packet size cannot be changed, so jumbo frame does not work.  

---> fixed (hopefully) now.

I'm using Xmac Mini Server from Sonnet. It adds PCI-Express slots via thunderbolt for a Mac Mini Server. I have tried this Kext with the i340-t4 and it will not install.

. check if your adapter appears in PCI device list - you can use System Info utility somewhere in this forum.

. If detected, check if the decive ID is listed in the Info.plist of the driver.

. If listed, try kextload manually.

I did find the Network Card in the PCI device list but it showed up as "Ethernet" with no Driver Installed. The device ID was in the Info.plist and when I reloaded it manually it didn't change anything. I rebooted multiple times and still no driver installed.

 

I also tried to modify the Info.plist to model the ThunderBolt adapter plist but that didn't help either.

You can try kextutil intead of kextload to get more verbose messages.

If the drivers fails during its startup sequence, you have to build the driver yourself and add logs.

Can you load other ethernet adapters via Thunderbolt ?

Do you have extra NICs using AppleIGB ? Your MB's NICs are handled by AppleE1000e, I believe.

Correction, you need both i210 & i217.

Personally, I have not used sleep/wake for years.

I always disable sleep after installation, as  they cannot wake up usually.

I will check next week whether my system with 82580 NIC wakes after sleep. If not, I have no way to fix it.

I confirmed the driver fails in establishing link after wake-up.

I could not fix it.

If someone find a way, tell me how to do it.

After updating to 10.9 I don't need the AppleIGB.kext anymore. I need it only for 10.8.

 

The 10.9 AppleIntelI210Ethernet.kext at IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/ is working ootb at 10.9, but not working with 10.8

Loaded Mavericks and downloaded the latest version for my S5520SC Intel MB with a 8086:10a7 (82575EB) NIC. Everything worked fine before, but now after a bit I get /var/log/system.log filling with:

Same problems here. On Mavericks my connection drops about every 5 minutes and I have to restart my computer.

EDIT: On Mountain Lion same problems. I think it has to do with the 5.0.6 update. Is there any download for the old version to try out if the problem is hard or software wise.

So I've been trying to use this driver on a Supermicro X9DAI with I350 but having a couple issues.

 

1.  On boot, sometimes it will cause a kernel panic and reboot.

2.  When I do a time-machine backup or random other times, the driver will stop working and I have to do a kextunload/kextload to bring network back.

 

I tried a number of things to dix this including updating the source to igb-5.1.2 but nothing seemed to help... until I decided to try editing the PCI Device ID for AppleIntelI210Ethernet.kext - after editing it, it worked perfectly following a reboot.  Before a reboot it didn't work, but I suspect that was related to some conflict between how AppleIGB and AppleIntelI210 initializes the card.

 

Obvious diff below.

As soon as i start loading one of the ports, with other than PING then it "closes" the port fro communication.

Intel quad NIC with a 82576 chipset. 

tried to trunk, got the same error. Managed tho to trunk it, but one after another failed, when loaded with data.
