zam
I have seen Aperture 1.1.2 working quite ok with SSE3 capable 945G and 915G systems (Jas 10.4.6 + Semjaza 10.4.7 upgrade). The GMA950 and GMA900 seem work be almost perfectly, but the is at least one annoyance: sometimes the main picture view goes black after adjusting some effects, and nothing but restarting Aperture fixes it back. It happens quite often when playing with RAW files, and I really would like to find a solution... maybe there is something wrong with the graphics drivers we use... I'm NOT on crack
i installed aperture yesterday on my dell optiplex 280 (sse2). no probelms, is much faster than my powerbook. There is a process you need to go through, which you can figure out if you google enough. Arsenicson
I am on Intel 915GAV mainboard and P4 524 (3.06 GHz) processor, 1 gig of ram. HOTISO 10.4.6 instalation without updates to 10.4.7. SSE3 package installed (no Safari glitches - seems like SSE3 really enabled) Intensively using aperture 1.1, it updated itself to 1.1.2 a couple of days ago. No glitches at all. Could have been more speedy, but with this processor i just wouldn't expect a lot. Photoshop CS2 takes quite a time to load, but is quite usable once started (processing 8 mpix files from Rebel XT) Aperture f#$@ing rocks Mainboard: sound in/microphone do not work. Did not test SATA but googling gives an impression that it should be OK. No lan onboard - some crappy realtec PCI card works like it came from Apple itself. Acessing the old windows machine through the remote desktop is fun Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/26740-aperture/#findComment-181880 Share on other sites
snikx
I successfully run Aperture 1.1.2 with a 945G (GMA950) and 2Gb DDR2 on a core2duo CPU (E6300). It runs perfectly and faster than my 1.2Ghz ibook G4 (only 768MB RAM); I browse over 6000 photos very quickly (as quick as iPhoto) An advice, have good disk subsystem and enough RAM... (2GB is great). Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/26740-aperture/#findComment-182507 Share on other sites
