Well yea, I know that much. I'm not computer retarded. It's just that it takes the fans much longer to stop than everything else. Like it all stops at once, except the fans. The fans take an extra minute or so to stop. And if I have to shut it down and grab it quick, I don't want to wait. Plus everytime I have that problem and try to start it up again, I have to hold down the power button for it to stop (the fans) and then hit it again to start it up. And it doesn't go through the normal start up process, it just goes right to the desktop as if it were asleep and says Mac OS X has quit unexpectedly and it's got Report and Ignore buttons. I thought OS X was supposed to be better than Windows. My old computer took a few seconds longer to shut down, but at least everything shut down.

7010. Sorry, just checking! My fans stop about ten seconds after the computer is off. (safety precaution from apple.) Go into system profiler and see what you smc version is. Mine is 1.13f3. (I assume your computer is fully updated.) Check apple's site if its 1.12 or below.

omfg. I just installed an extra 2GB of RAM. When I start up, I get short beeps (meaning power error). So, I just stare at it for like 5 minutes. Then, I start fiddling with the cpu cooler (I hate the stock intel cooler). I keep trying to start up, and it keeps failing. I must have taken the cooler on and off like 3 times. Finally, 45 minutes later, I'm stumped. WTF, I have no idea. Then, I think "Oh! this problem started when I added ram. even though I'm getting the wrong error message, maybe I will try taking out the extra 2 GB and see if it works". I look at the RAM, and one slot isn't quite in.

I FINALLY GOT MY COMPUTER TO OVERCLOCK!!

CPU to 3.2GHz, 1600MHz FSB (400*4), RAM in 1:1.

My RAM XBench test jumped from 220 to 240 just by putting it in 1:1....

Now for the RAM.....
