If you want proper graphics, save up your pocket money for a few weeks and buy a wintel graphics card. If you got the right hardware (PCI-E, maybe AGP...) the x1600 is a sweet deal, you should be able to pick one up for about $100 off ebay.

The 7000 sucks. Prolly better just to use your onboard graphics than that thing... I had a 7500 and it ate {censored}. Maybe Okay for basic OpenGL, but for anything a bit bigger, like quartz extreme, it dies.

I wonder if it is using the correct driver. Which driver is osx86 using? I wonder if getting your deviceID into the kext for the "correct" driver and adding that to your boot.plist might work nicely.

The 7000, while not a gaming card, should be more than up to the task of running osx86.

Good news!!! A co worker needs a new card and I will sell my Nvida 6800 and I can get a Radeon X1600! I got AGP but what X1600 work perfectly, the XT or PRO?

EDIT: I found this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814102680

That should work.

I have a Sapphire ATi Radeon x1600 Pro AGP w/ 512mb

It works amazingly well with OS X. There are only three problems:

1) VGA output only works. No DVI

2) System profiler shows it as a 256mb card

3) Even with the new AGP driver, it shows as PCI

Keep in mind: all three of the above problems don't affect the hardware performance in the least. Quake looks amazing and everything still looks sharp and clear, even with the lack of DVI.

Kick ass. I am going to get the 256 version, don't need 512 and from the reviews on Newegg it runs hot. I use vga anyway since I only have a 20 inch crt but it looks great. So EVERYTHING supported? What about the drivers?

EDIT: I read the Wiki and I see it is fully working and such. The max resolution is 1280x1024? Hell that is fine. That is all I run. On the patch that the wiki talks about, is there a how to?

I REALLY wanna know if it works out for ya man, I'm thinking of building another machine, specifically for OSX, but I can really only afford a fancy AGP card, and maybe some better cpu cooling to overclock the hell out of this 2.4c beasty. LET US KNOW IF DVI WORKS WITH AGP TOO!!!!

Go for it.

Sry for the CAPITOLS, but it works.

This card is amazing in osx86. I dont have any problems such as mouse tearing which people get with other cards. I have the AGP sapphire x1600 pro.

Just a question: Which motherboard do you have? because if you have nforce 3 you may get slowdown problems.

Here are some links for you which will help when you get it:

Damn, no DVI??? I really need that, as my monitor only has DVI/HDMI inputs.

:)

Has anyone got this AGP Sapphire X1600 Pro to work with DVI outs?????

Damn, just read the WIKI, no DVI at all, just VGA, why o why........
