I am in the process of bringing up an i3-530 on a GA H55M-UD2H using this guide. The on board graphics may not be supported at this time in OS X. I have my machine where it boots into the installed Snow Leopard 10.6.0 via Tony's ##### CD. The next step is to update to 10.6.3 and tweak things to boot directly. I plan to change the video card before going forward.

ohhh, yeahhhh, got it working! After i tried all boot cd i took

tonymacsx86 P55 Boot CD and i came to the installation screen. I switched to the Snow Leopard Retail disc and started with

boot:busratio=25 for my core i5 661.

After that there was white lines with some errors and falses, but i came to the install screen.

I chose the disk utility and formated my harddrive with hfs+ journaled and GUID Partition.

I took 30 min to install, it was really slow and at the end there was an installation failed! and i restated.

I took tonymacs boot cd back in and selected the hard drive and booted with boot:busratio=25 again.

After a short moment of waiting i could finish the installation. I have now a running Mac OS X 10.6.

My Motherboard is the GA-H55M-USB3, the bios is F6, and i changed HPET to 64 and for the Hard drives AHCI.

What can i do now for the Sound, Network, and Graphics ? The Graphics stuck at 1024 x 768.

And can i save update from 106 to 10.6.3 ?

Try to make some pictures :)

On my H55 sound, ethernet and on-board video will work. Video requires setting a resolution using the Graphics Mode key in com.apple.boot.plist (such as 1900x1200x32), you cannot change resolution and there is no enhanced graphics. Sound requires a modified AppleHDA plus Enabler, put the HDA in S/L/E and Enabler in E/E. Ethernet works with Realtek1000SL in S/L/E.

I use DigitalDreamers script to install the kexts as well as DSDT mod, bootloader and Qoopz kernal. The sound kexts came from a grouping of P55 audio kexts I found on this site, the rest from DDs package.

I was going to try the 10.6.3 v1.1 update to see if there is better support for on-board video, but unfortunately, the memory decided to roll over and die yesterday, so that machine is down until new memory chips are acquired!

Sounds awesome. I just finished a uATX build with an i7-860 and was considering an i3-530 mini-ITX build for a media extender. I've been debating whether to use Windows 7 (eww) or run it as a hackintosh. I've also been trying to decide what to do for graphics. Considering trying to use the build in graphics, but also considering a 9400gt low profile card for easier digital sound output. Please keep us updated with your progress.

Just finished install snow leopard 10.6.3 on h55m-usb3, everything work out of the box. Audio, 8800GTS, NiC card. Until I update with ##### with legacy audio, that when my onboard audio stop working.

In the future for any Intel Core iX users, instead of using busratio, simply download ##### Supported, it's made for Core iX processors and no need for busratio=xx just -v, and you're greeted with Install Succeded :P

And you can use ##### to go to 10.6.4.

that worked thanks but how do i get my 5770 video card to work ? i have to take it out just to get the computer to start up on 10.6.3 what do i do ?and what kexet do i in stall?

Just a quick question, hoping for quick short answer.

Is it possible on GA-H55N-USB3 mb to get the ONBOARD HDMI (or DVI) to get 1080p on my tv, (to get OSX work properly?)

I don't want to get extra Graphic Card. Is is possible to use the onboard Intel H55 HD Graphic to work?

S@

Hi,

sold my macbook a while ago, and build a new system for ubuntu. I want to know just for fun, if it possible to install snow leopard on a Gigabyte GA-H55M-USB3 with a core i5-661 processor with integrated graphics.

thanks

Yes - many have done it on that board - but I don't think the integrated graphics work at the moment.
