  1. Ryzen Clover Installation Guide macOS Sierra

This is my BCM94360CS2 card in a M.2 adapter installed on the AB350N motherboard. This same WiFi/BT card on an Intel motherboard such as ASRock Z270 Gaming-ITX/ac works OOB Bluetooth and WiFi. On the Ryzen system, I can not get the system to load the USB connection and therefore the Bluetooth section is non-op. In fact with my current boot, I do not show any USB drivers loaded. Humm.. if it was simple I would loose interest. neil
  2. Ryzen Clover Installation Guide macOS Sierra

I read down thru the Slice HWSensor3 thread and did not understand much of it. Do you have CPU temps working on your High Sierra Ryzen system? If yes, can you provide some guidance to install? Thank you, neil
  3. Ryzen Clover Installation Guide macOS Sierra

Using the DPCIManager.app I did not find any leads to an audio solution in the PCI List or in the Misc section. I am happy with the VoodooHDA as I have audio out to my sound system and also have HDMI audio for my video playback. Again, I would like to learn of a solution for Bluetooth from my Apple BCM94360CS2 WiFi/BT module. The WiFi section of the module works well. This would be nice to have but not needed for workstation use. And the thing that would really make my day would be to luck on a solution to get full function on the HWMonitor.app or an equivalent app. The Intel Power Gadget is useless on the AMD CPU. Neil

Humm.. well the DPCIManager while usually helpful, in this case not so much; The Gigabyte user's manual says that the AB350N GAMING WiFi has Realtek ALC1220 codec, you can see that it is not identified by DPCIManger. And I do agree at times it does take trying every version of VoodooHDA to identify the best one for a system. And at times you might even have to resort to USB audio if you are on a very new tech motherboard. Also, on many systems, you need to disable the Apple HDA kext for VoodooHDA to load correctly. With your audio problem, do you have the issue on both front and rear ports? Is it the same with head pones? Is your system mounted in a case? Does USB audio work well? neil

For sound I am using VoodooHDA v 2.8.9 and it seems to be very stable and I have not noticed any problems with sound. The kernel is from the AMD developers forum: " Bronya Kernel HS 10.13 for Ryzen testing.. http://www.insanelym...ttach_id=262897 " neil

I am fairly happy with High Sierra on my Ryzen 7 1700X - GA AB350N - GTX 960 ITX. GPU performance is still low, HWMonitor is still mostly non-op and I do not have Bluetooth working (yet). Built this clone using the kernel found in the AMD developer's section: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/325514-amd-high-sierra-kernel-release-and-testing/ The system is stable and very useable. neil
  7. Ryzen Clover Installation Guide macOS Sierra

Hi guys, just a quick status and a question. I have macOS 10.12.6 running on my GA AB350N Rysen 7 1700X system. I have created several bootable drives using the Gigamaxx Clone Edit process, the AMD-OSX,com USB installer, and raw editing of a Clone swapping in the kernel and fixing the few thing that popped out. The main thing that I am missing is HWMonitor for temps. The current versions of CPUsensor cause boot problem (can’t). Does anyone have a solution for monitoring the temps? The other thing that does not work is the Bluetooth portion of my WiFi/BT BCM94360CS2 (MacBook Air card). Posting here because the other AMD Risen threads do not have any activity. Neil
  8. I saw this post and updated my Clover from v4128 to v4184 today and I see no improvement in the Cores/Threads issue. The is using Cinebench and Geekbench as test tools. And as a sharing; I use VMWare Fusion on my OS X hacks and run an old favorite copy of XP Pro with a bunch of utils, anyway Fusion was giving me an error on the Ryzen system. However, I saw a hint in a YouTube vid that pointed to SVM in the Gigabyte UEFI BIOS (Secure Virtual Machine Mode). With this setting set to enabled, VMWare Fusion v8.n is happy and my virtual machine runs well (this is on 10.12.6 installed via Gigamaxx edit process). Neil
  9. My system boots most of the time correctly. However it does fail to boot for no good reason at times; I find that doing -v (verbose) boot usually gets it started. Now the main post install issue that I am looking at is the incorrectly identified CPU name (shown as "unknown" in "About this Mac" and the 16 Cores vs 8 Cores as seen in GeekBench and Cinebench. Of interest I have Windows 8 installed and in Windows the cores and threads are correct as seen in Cinebench. I updated the BIOS from F2 to F3 but this did not affect the problem. Again this is on my Gigabyte AB350N system with 10.12.6 installed via Gigamaxx's disk edit process. Neil

I have resolved my installation issue where the GTX 960 was not running in the acceleration mode, was not loading any kext. The issue was resolved by reinstalling Clover using Clover_v2.4k_r4128 and insuring that EmuVariableUefi-64 was installed. Now that issue is resolved. Cinebench R15 now runs with OpenGL 42.13 fps (slow as compared to 65.6 fps on a Intel i7-7770T system) The Cinebench CPU score is 1543 on this Ryzen 7 1700X. Neil
  11. This morning I built a clone 10.12.6 Ryzen system using Gigamaxx's install guide. This drive now boots well on my Rygen 7 1700x system which is a Gigabyte AB350N, 16GB DDR4 with a Gigabyte GXT 960 (ITX version). The issue is I currently can not get this system to load the Nvidia Web drivers. The drivers/kexts installed and can be seen in /S/L/E. OBW I have a second Ryzen boot HDD with 10.12.4 and this one is setup to boot with a GeForce 8400 GS (a OOB compatible GPU). This system does boot and run with video acceleration and the GPU card is identified correctly. However this set up is dog slow running UNiGiNE Heaven.. (this bench mark reports 1.6 Max FPS!). However my main focus is getting the GTX 960 drivers sorted out. Thank you for any help, Neil edit 8/10/2017 - resolved the GTX 960 not loading the NVidia Web drivers by updating Clover to ..4128 with EmuVariableUefi-64 added to the installed items.
  12. Ryzen Clover Installation Guide macOS Sierra

Gigamaxx thank you for the files and guides in your first two posts in this thread. I have my Ryzen 7 1700X system on a Gigabyte AB350N with 16GB DDR4 and a 8400 GS GPU up and running 10.12.4 well with Ethernet, VoodooHDA sound, and accelerated video. I followed your post clone disk edit process as I had no joy with the USB installer method. I would like to understand if Maxwell Nvidia GPUs can be installed with full functionality? And is 10.12.6 as stable as I find 10.12.4 to be? Again, thank you, neil
  13. LOL - a min G5 PM? No, just for fun.

Here are three more photos: Enjoy. Neil

I am pleased that you find this system interesting. I have kept it current and it now has Sierra 10.12.3 installed. I is part of my design-work collection and usually get booted about once a month. Good modding, neil
  15. Well it is my experience that DSDT.aml files are not needed today with current versions of OS X and current motherboards including H110 chipset ones. What version of OS X are you using? And what is/are the issue(s) that you are trying to resolve with a DSDT? neil
