hi there !

i have a good cooling case with sound dampening (Nexus Breeze)

and stock cooler from Intel is boring me. it's too loud.

i wish a noiseless system and thought to buy a Passive cooler...

have anyone use passive coolers? or know which is good?

on my case i have a cooler downside, which get cool air and he's will flow to passive cooler directly, i thought my case good for passive coller usage, but which cooler to use ?? :D

I think you really want to good active cooler set at low speed (they can be inaudible).

See this excellent and current review:

But if you must have passive then check out the Scythe Ninja here:

i choose one of this two.

Thermaltake (CL-P0114) Big Typhoon - active and silent.

Scythe Ninja PLUS - passive and active. i can use with cooler or without - as i wish.

thought Ninja plus is a best choice

I'm using the Zalman CNPS9500 AT (Sockel 775) on my P4 Dual 930.

Now we have here 30°C+ in Vienna and with 100% CPU load I have under 52°C@1500RPM.

I have also 2 low noise 12cm fans in my Case undervolted@7V.

The loudest components are my HDD's now...

+1 on the Zalman. Keeps mine at 4.0 to under 60*C. I seriously doubt youre going to get away with passive cooling on an 805, even at stock speeds. Its a well known fact that the Smithfield core doubles as a great space heater :D

i saw a lot of reviews and thanks all of you for the answers.

i stopped at Scythe Ninja PLUS.

with cooler it BEAT Zalman. at a lot of tests.....

it's active and really silent .... i see Zalman at work.. if you get CPU good working Zalman is noisy...

Boo50,

Did Typhoon cooler and Glacialtech 950 make a BIG difference for you in terms of fan noise? What made more difference, the heat sink or fan?

Because I don't overclock and stock heatsink seems fine for what I do (about 39-41 C), I'm think of just replacing stock fan for more silent one.

Any recommendation on silent fan for stock heatsink?

i planned to buy a new silent PSU
