n3h3bkau
I was playing around today and relized how many games I had back from my old PowerPC 6400/200 days, Master of Orion 2, Total Annihilation, Civilization, etc. So, any chance Classic could be ported? CapAmerica
Classic I think is all up to Apple. Tiger itself did not ship with Classic mode on by default and it didn't ship with a copy of OS9. It is posable that Apple maybe finally killing off Classic mode. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/2009-classic/#findComment-13055 Share on other sites
cyrana
No, it won't be ported. There are some Mac OS emulators, but I don't think any of them even support OS 9. iLux
Mac-On-Mac works on Rosetta and it's an emulator of MacOS PPC and Mac OS X up to 10.1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/2009-classic/#findComment-13087 Share on other sites
DeathChill
There's really no need for Apple to support Classic anymore. It's an old dead OS at this point and there's REALLY no point in continuing to make it as they want everyone to move forward. blahsucks
Many older games (EDUCATIONAL apps are big) run on Classic, not to mention Nisus Writer. On the other hand, those same Classic games that worked on Windows 3.1 are going to die anyway once 64-bit Windows comes around. I have heard of a Basilisk Emu port, but haven't checked it out yet. JackHair
There's a version of SheepShaver that should work on OSx86 http://www.gibix.net/dokuwiki/en:projects:sheepshaver It runs MacOS 7.5.2 thru MacOS 9.0.4 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/2009-classic/#findComment-207639 Share on other sites
A Nonny Moose
Classic is dead on an Intel Mac. You can try SheepShaver and see if it works there, but you're limited in the Mac OS to 9.1 (I think).
