Hm, ok.. i was watching Naruto the other day and for example the link is

http://www.narutoget.com/watch/765-naruto-...en-episode-187/

On Chrome and Chromium latest sounds goes nasty.. on Safari plays but still once in a while does a bit of a click and pop, maybe some cranching..

For 10.6.5 now that i'm on cartri 0.8 i only change the fakesmc or anything else? i have the following..

/Extra

9d95b036d07a593696d0c0dcceaa8841.png

And Cartri's AppleHDA.kext on /S/L/E

i do Kext Helper and then Kext Utility.. and i don't use dsdt, with my vga i'm playing with nvenabler64 and the Aver TV Card has the following inside /S/L/E

58f27f36d2077b680bf5be0ab0ffdb1f.png

Hope they helped..

Thanx for the link mate.

Well, sound here is playing wonderful, except for the damn worst sound of my speakers, but no clicks, pops or something using Safari or Chrome.

For 10.6.5 and Cartri BIOS 0.8, you only need to have fakesmc.kext if you doesn't mind with Orange Icons like me. ;)

About sound, you can download the right AppleHDA.kext in Cartri website and follow the instructions he posted in his blog to apply the new HDA kext and make system read for the right one since you'll need to trash the older one.

VGA won't seem to be problematic in Cartri BIOS. I use my VGA with no need of strings or anything else.

When it comes to your TV Card, I don't know if upgrading will make any changes to it. I believe not, but you can install kexts for it again in case you loose the actual kexts.

When updating, use the ComboUpdate file even if you're using 10.6.4 already. Cartri explains why in his blog if you want a little bit more of information.

Well, I believe it is that.

When you do it, let me know the results.

Cheers,

bb.

Anyone with ideas on how to get ide dvd drive working in osx86 Thks

Mate, I'm almost sure that you don't have kext problems.

If were a kext problem, you wouldn't be able to see the drive. System wouldn't recognize it.

You can try the JMicronATA.kext to see if changes anything.

In my case here, this kext allowed me to see my drive in system, but that's not your case.

bb.

Check that you have IDE DVDRW jumper set and connected to the MOBO as Master via an 80-wire IDE cable and that IDE BIOS settings are OK.......have you confirmed that the IDE DVDRW works fine with Windows or Linux on your PC.......?

Thks for replies ,drive is master and I have no problems with it in windows.Still have no clue.

I did the enable of quartz with osx86 tools ,the games are a little better ,but missing something else.

What about the graphics injector in 0sx86 tools?

I can't run imovie it gives that quartz extreme error also.

Huuummm... why are you using iAtkos to install SL?

Using the GA-EP45-UD3L + Cartri 0.8 BIOS, you don't need to use iAtkos to install SL.

- You just need to download the boot disc at cartri.net;

- BUY a copy of Snow Leopard (original one is very affordable and you help to support Apple financially) or download it from one website of your choice;

And install it like a normal OS, regarding that OSX needs some specific needs on config and HDD formats.

+1

Thks for replies, i guess that is too late now ,I have it all installed and running. I don't have that sata dvd drive anymore either that I borrowed.

I also don't have the catri bios installed,.So that is why I was asking those questions .

Maybe someone has installed iatkos with this board?

I'm still searching googgle for these fixes in the meantime

All right.

Let me say one little thing...

Don't think that installing OS X several time as much as you need to do is a waste of time. Doing that you'll learn a lot how this amazing system works.

When I mentioned Cartri BIOS is because he's doing a amazing job on moding BIOS from some Gigabyte models just to have a more compatible and friendly hardware to deal with OS X without the need of special or moded kexts.

In your case I recommend to use it, because I know the results and I know you'll have less problems using this BIOS.

Probably the only things you'll need are this:

- Boot disc (cartri.net -> Downloads section)

- SL DVD for installation (Original Disc or Downloaded one - I suggest buying original);

- Download of Chameleon RC5 from cartri.net and install it to be able to dual boot and boot directly from HDD;

- One folder called /Extra/Extensions with just one file inside that's called fakesmc.kext.

Want something simpler than that?? Buy a mac. ;)

Cheers,

bb.

P.S. - Please, place your HW specs in signature. It will help us know what you have and look for the right help. :D

hay @breakingbad ..

i think i've managed to understand something.. hm..

before i got to work i had di.fm techno playing all morning.. i noticed that the speed and tone of the song playing changed and got a bit up and up each minute.. well after that, heard a click/pop sound and then back to normal speed and tone. That difference is so small that you must now something about music/rhythm, you know what im saying!

So maybe it's a buffer/overstack/something of a problem..

Should i tell Cartri about it?

You can post something about it in his thread here to check if there's somebody else with same problem.

Since I'm visiting his thread, I never read something like that in posts.

Post something to see if you got any reply on that.

Hey mate.

It's very awful this click on sound.

Have you tried uninstalling the TV Card you have and see if problems persists?

Have you did this after installing the new AppleHDA.kext to your system?

For anyone who lost sound on ALC-888:
1- Go to the site download area and download tmongkol alc 888 “10.6.3+” patched kext
2- Manually put it over /System/Library/Extensions
3- USE DISK UTILITY TO REPAIR PERMISSIONS
4- Open terminal and type: sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions
5- Reboot
6- Enjoy.

PS: Do not use mkext based tools such as kext helper or other automatic kext installer: they use generic permissions, Disk Utility is the best way to keep your Mac OS X clean.

I did all this exactly and to be true it worked that way only! Kext Helper the first time didn't help me.. something about placing AppleHDA inside mkext cached extensions breaks it, so i cleared caches, did a disk utility check/perms, touched extensions to be new, rebooted and i got that..

i haven't tried removing the tv card, but i think it's going to be the same, cause clicks and pops, i had'em before the tv card but then i was using voodoohda.. hm.. need to test more.. :S :)

Heh, now you see how awful is the situation.. :)

Thks for reply ,I can't re-install until I get a sata drive meaning buy one. Maybe soon I'll get one, holiday deals coming. but for now I'll stick to what I have and try to fix it.

Maybe installing catri bios with the iatkos install will help the problems I am having? Thks

Are you booting in 32bit mode using arch=i386, or 64bit mode using arch=x86_64.....? If the latter, then try the former........also, although written for nForce chipset MOBOs, apart from AppleNForceATA and nForceLAN kext choices, check the Customise menu selections in my blog iATKOS S3 v2 install guide here (although as has been said, a full Retail install is the ultimate way forward.....)

I can't tell which mode I am booting in , it boots directly into snow how can I tell?I'll check your guide. Thks

What about using catri bios to fix issues with iatkos?

To immediately confirm that you have booted the 64bit kernel, boot in verbose mode using -v and look for the boot screen message: "Kernel is LP64"..............

First post your current BIOS settings here and check your iATKOS S3 v2 Customise selections against my Install Guide.......

Settings for now, lp64 is kernel.

@ biglips

Initially have the BIOS settings for the CPU similar to these set as shown:

CPU Internal Thermal Control [AUTO]

Limit CPUID MaxVal [DISABLED]

Enhanced C1 (C1E) [DISABLED]

Execute Disable Bit [ENABLED]

Virtualization Technology [DISABLED] Does not appear to make a difference whether ENABLED or DISABLED.

Enhanced Intel Speedstep Technology [DISABLED]
