tenshin2002
I have Halo running on my system but its very slow. In app info it says PowerPC. Does anybody know if a unified patch has been released for Halo?
Colonel
Sadly, the universal patch for Halo is still under development.

bigboss
Dude, you SCARED me there, I thought it was out. -nVidia_user how much of a performance hit does halo take when running halo through rosetta anyways?
Colonel
It runs horribly, horribly slow under Rosetta on my Celeron D hackintosh. It's usable, but it will occasionally crash when there is too much activity onscreen. I desperately need the universal patch.

It runs "almost-fine" on all-low graphics under Rosetta, but I want to run on Maximum graphics level, something my Hackintosh could absolutely do with a UB of Halo. tenshin2002
The game is starting to get old, the UB should be out already. Anyway its good that it is still under development. About performance, its ok but as soon as the accion gets interesting the performance hit make the game almost unplayable. And im running on a P4 3,2 GHz
munky
you could always boot into windows and run the win32 version... ? but seriously tho folks... i'd love to see a UB version
Colonel
I think they should focus on making a universal Halo 2 instead of making the older Halo universal. EDIT: Forget about Halo 2, they should port Halo 3!
New001
you could always boot into windows and run the win32 version... ? Hey, This is Mac gaming, not Windows gaming I can't wait to see how well it will run
G_G
About performance, its ok but as soon as the action gets interesting the performance hit makes the game almost unplayable. And i'm running on a P4 3,2 GHz And I'm running on a 3GHz, and a Koverg-patched x700! The performance hit can get real nasty. It's really not worth the trouble of patching.
Mr. Bond
I think they should focus on making a universal Halo 2 instead of making the older Halo universal. EDIT: Forget about Halo 2, they should port Halo 3! Hear, hear! Although that E3 trailer had me feeling a bit...empty. Too bad...I'd really like to try out Halo 3 upon release, but it seems like I'm leaning towards getting a revolution over the holidays.
nrvnqsr
Halo has never crashed on me, even when turning all the graphic options to the highest settings. Slowdown during heavy action does occur however. Anxiously awaiting the UB patch. As for Halo 3...As a Bungie fan since 1995, I was quite happy with the references to Pathways into Darkness and the "Cortana Letters" in the trailer. If that and Halo 2 are any indication, Halo 3 is going to feel much closer to the Marathon games, which is a very good thing.
quietglow
I dunno, maybe i have low standards or something, but I'm enjoying the heck out of it on my desktop machine--I think I have settings pretty close to maxed. The only time I notice performance issues is when the screen is SERIOUSLY loaded up with bad guys or with explosions. That said, I'll bet it will be freakin amazing given a UB patch. Well, that's because your video card makes Halo very happy. Especially because it has 12 shader processors

INFNITE
Halo has a generic fight aliens storyline, and Master Chief is boring as hell. An emotionless guy wearing an ugly green armor and a helmet that looks like the Doom Marine. Generic as hell. Ok, the multiplayer is nicely done, but I'd rather play realistic multiplayer games like BattleField 2 or Counter-Strike, not some alien fighting bullcrap. XBox fanboys view it as the holy grail of gaming, I view it as a well made FPS, which really isn't all that special.
enb14
if you ask me, Halo series is overrated. I'm agree with you, Halo is a nice game but it's overated, UT2004 is much much better.
nrvnqsr
if you ask me, Halo series is overrated. Compared to the Marathon trilogy, yes. Compared to all other FPS games, no.
tenshin2002
Well its a good thing that people like different things. But for me Halo 1 & 2 are not overrated. Another game that is all hyped up is Halflife 2 and i prefer the much more the Halo games. I have played all "good" FPS games so I have references. And the Halo games has the crown in my book. I do however accept that some people prefer games like counter strike and dont care much about SciFi games. Just wanted to clear the overrated up a little bit. For people like me these games are not overrated.
