sorry - still not working

i've reinstalled the voodoo stuff from your files - still nothing

How did you install?

replace /Extra/Extensions1/VoodooPS2Controller.kext/Contents/PlugIns/VoodooPS2Mouse.kext

and re-make /Extra/Extensions.mkext is right way.

Hey Guys, nice work! Could you pls help me??

I want to install SL on a MSI Wind U115.

It has a Intel Poulsbo Chipset. So I used your PIIXATA.kext, but I got:

ATA Disk: Checksum Cookie not valid.
IntelPIIXATA: 80-conductor-cable not detected on primary IDE channel.

Still waiting for root device
Still waiting for root device
Still waiting for root device
...

It has a 8GB SSD Disk and a 160GB IDE Disk.

There is no option in the bios for AHCI oder IDE Mode...even with a BIOS update...

So I think it's a chipset problem, any idea??

Thanks

Drakulix

HI,

ATA Disk: Checksum Cookie not valid.
IntelPIIXATA: 80-conductor-cable not detected on primary IDE channel.

These messages are normal.

Did you try specify "rd= " option at boot?

Yes, sometimes better.

BTW, USB or HDD which you try?

First tried to launch an USB-Stick (with Retail DVD, EFI Partition kexts).

I got same errors and an USBF error (could not enumerate device at port @2..).

So I used a ubuntu linux to read out the uuid of the HDD and copy the Stick (with new UUID) to the IDE HDD (160GB). (with "dd if=.. of=..").

The UUID is definitive correct...

@Drakulix

Perhaps USB trouble is caused by VAIOPEnabler.

You should replace it with GMA500Enabler.

Internal disk,your way seems right. but something is wrong. By the ATA messages, devices are recognize collectly. reconfirm your disk partition status.

@thangbinh

@mickeyboy

You got it!

With vaio p, we have no such battery problem.

but Hints are in VoodooBattery or DSDT.

@MagForAll

I've seen "unsupported CPU" 2 times.

To avoid …

1. delete AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement.

2. patch kernel.(10.6.2)

Hallo Guys... I have my vaio P688E and trying to install snow leopard there.... but I get kernel panic with unsupported CPU....

any hints ?

what bootfiles did you use ?

i'm not the mac freak and i'm not able to read something special from your picture - but the main difference from your p688e to my p11z should only be the ssd - am i right ?

i had my problems with the boot files - but that was my fault (no mac to prepare the usb pendrive, never really did anything like that on a mac (my last mac was a LC2)

but that pendrive i've made with different files from different sources worked well - my p11 has now 10.6.2 and W7 on it, i use chameleon as bootmanager and everything works fine (with the common limitations)

the setup was complete done with pendrives (W7, OSX, Gparted and one for the Bootfiles)

did you use any commands while starting the setup ??

hmm - cash ??? :2cents::withstupid:

no thanks :angel:

if anyone deserves money - than ryuu123!!

i made an dmg of my bootstick - all you need is transmac and a 512mb pendrive

use it as mentioned in this an the other thread (10.6)

read the stuff twice (minimum) - you will get to a few points where you can get stuck

but there's (almost) always a way out.

i made the initial install "pure" on an empty hdd - at the moment i have 10.6.2 and windows 7 on my p11z

(i installed windows is only to use the gps)

image deleted - fixed image below

edit: i've seen thats something wrong with the image - it wont boot - so wait a little until i fixed it

maybe you should try the image i posted above

worked for me without any problem - there is data garbage in it - i know that, but it's made from a different image and i changed some stuff - it works - and thats the important part - but - you need a 512mb stick ( even if it's only ~14mb as a dmg)
