bofors
You do not need to do anything more than turn on OS X's built-in Firewall. Welcome to Macintosh. A Nonny Moose
I don't think I've ever seen such a fascination with items "phoning home" until I met this bunch. Did Windows seriously make you guys this afraid? Did Windows seriously make you guys this afraid?I think Apple has a pretty good idea of how many copies of illicit OSX86 is running out there and where these copies are running from, and they didn't get that number by taking a poll or survey Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/14394-zonealarm-to-the-pc-is-as-fill-in-the-blank-is-to-the-mac/#findComment-92066 Share on other sites

retroz
No the internet did. Exactly, you don't think the MAC OS Programs are dialing home all the time? If not, I have some waterfront property to sell you in Arizona How is it do you think then that the MAC OS says updates available, or other programs installed. Trust me, they go online all the time - am always reading about Adobe CS expiring (mac or those without firewalls as the program always wants to go online).....talking about of course, try before you buy! Same with auto updates--turn it off. As for Adobe, I don't use any of their stuff, instead opting for free alternatives that don't hassle me like Adobe does. As for software phoning home, many times it's to make sure the copy is a legit copy, which speaks volumes if you're trying to stop that. Now if it's phoning home every time you start it up, then you seriously need to look for different software to suit your needs and not put up with the {censored}.
