Everything was working well till 720mv , when I setted value less than that the app. has started to display wrong values (superior..).

The console displayed always correct message

I used the .18 debug version. If You need more I'm here.

p.s. the test was executed with vanilla kernel and the FSB=133 memoryType=19 memorySpeed=667 at the prompt.

Well that is kind of obvious, because that is the lowest value it is possible to set. And if you are able to use your cpu at that voltage that is kind of impressive!

I will add a check so it rejects values that are out of the bounds.

   Thanks in advance!!!

If you can try the new 1.0.19 kext and post me the output from the debug version... and if it panics of course a picture of the kp will be nice as usual.

I need to check some final values, then i think this will be live very soon.

Hi, Thanks for this great speedstep app, Im keen on it since my Dell Inspiron 6400 runs so hot it burns my legs... I expect the cpu to run between 40-50celcius by your app's display. The question I have is this:

I tried the latest app but it crashes with both an older kernel module and the latest... My report is this:

Thanks for the help.

What OS X do you use ?

Leopard=10.5 is an 64/32 Bit Version (automatic 64 Bit switch/usage).

Older ones (Tiger=10.4) have also 64 Bit but many of system files arent 64 Bit already.

First of all thanks for the effort :)

however according to the gui it never goes below 1596mhz and 1075mv. As you can see in the log the only p-states used are 0 and 1 even though there's no load on the cpu. I've tried setting override to yes and modifying the voltage settings in the info.plist file but no luck. Has anyone else run into this problem?

And another thing, how do i define custom p-states in the Info.plist file? I couldn't find a description anywhere.

Ok. I have tried it.

Three times I've got such freezes:

And on fourth start I've got panic:

Well, the amd documents was a bit misleading, but I think I found the correct now. I have to ask you to try the debug version I just uploaded and post the output from the kext before it unloads. I think I have all sorted out now. I really hope it is not panicing while reading the msr's now.

Thank with 1.0.19 now it didn't crash my amd

But no any state of clock or voltage being assigned

using voodoo_beta2c kernel + AnV AppleSMBIOS + AppleACPIPlatform 1.0.3 + AnV IOPCIFamily

on ACPICPUThrottle for AMD by obsidianX everything run fine

the annoying is bus speed detected by voodoo kernel , incorrect when displayed at System Profiler

It didn't look too well. But I now have at least something to work from. You should check back for a new version.

Can you list what version of kernel, AppleSMBIOS(+BIOSdata Injector) and AppleACPIPlatform to managed it work on your AMD?

Thank you.

His AMD uses entirely different way of throttling. And the FSB is not important for display of frequency on AMD as opposed to it is on Intel.

OK we wait for good news

Thank after all

voodoo_beta2c kernel + AnV AppleSMBIOS + AppleACPIPlatform 1.0.3

Ok then

we use the same version on that file

so like superhai said it's not depend on what version of any file mentioned we use

You have great phenom proc

I have to wait for my X2 3800+

I see your code based on mercurysquad xnu-speedstep, now his code support autothrottle without external app.

Even his kext still always crashing my AMD.

Could this internal autothrottle also being adapt to your version ?

Thank you.

This kext has always had autothrottle without requiring external app.
