  1. Hi, if anyone is having trouble getting their dual pcb gtx 295 to work on Mavericks, follow these instructions to have it working with video acceleration: 1) Install the NVEnabler 64.kext and NVGTX295.Fix.kext into the System/Library/Extensions from this link : http://www.osx86.net/files/file/2132-gtx295-lion/ 2) Use GraphicsEnabler=YES in your boot up options. Using this technique I managed to get my card working nicely

    LSI 3ware 9550SX-8LP

I've had my 9650SE working before, to begin with I needed to have it boot in arch=i386 mode since I only had a 32bit driver, but then I got the 64.kext and it worked for 64bit boot up. I have just upgraded to mountain lion but I am having trouble getting the driver to work. Will let you know how I go. The RAID seems to be working fine on ML, I hope its the same for your 9550SX card. I just downloaded the Complete_codeset_Mac_9.5.4.iso off lsi.com . Then I had to copy the setupMac.jar from the packages/installers onto my desktop then run: sudo java -jar setupMac.jar Everything then installed fine and I could access the local web admin site by clicking on the shortcut at "/opt/3ware/Connect to 3DM2.webarchive" Goodluck!

Snow Leopard on Hardware Raid Set (bootable)

you have to boot in 32bit mode for the stable 9.5.3 drivers to work... Since i boot with chameleon i had to use the flag "arch=i386" some others you need to use "-x32" instead. Could someone please post the x64bit version of the kext so people can grab it from here instead of having to email 3ware... would be so much easier
  4. Thanks ANARCHiNTOSH! I followed your instructions in post #33, I have just installed iATKOS S3 v2-Great installer btw... All i had to do was disable the sleepenabler in the boot list like you said. Then i googled around trying to find out if my card was 1 or 2 pcb. Turns out its 1 pcb, it looks like this card-Gigabyte GV-N295-18I-B rev2.0 GeForce GTX 295. I generated the string and put it into my boot.plist as you directed, rebooted and WA LA, 1920x1600 with everything running smooth. Cheers mate! -benos.

GeForce 9600 GT natively supported in Mac OS X 10.5.6

Ok, i've got it to work now without NVdarwin. After deleting my NV*.* and Ge*.* kexts, i copied over the 10.5.6 ones (NV*.* and Ge*.*) from another installation which I did not install aquamac kexts on. I think they could have been stuffing with my card before? All I did was delete NVdarwin.kext and it worked on reboot... So there you go. Dual DVI now works perfectly with these official kexts in 10.5.6 Go here to generate a hex to place into your boot.plist so it will work. http://forum.netkas.org/index.php?topic=222.0 Good luck osxing! -benos. PS. Here is my EFI Hex string and plist file which I generated the hex string from. 9600GT_EFI.zip

GeForce 9600 GT natively supported in Mac OS X 10.5.6

Thanks for replying Lars, I will look into the NVCAP string if I work out how the NVDarwin driver works, until then I will be trying to get my card to work with the more official drivers. Maybe I should take some strings from NVDarwin to try on the official NV5/NVResman drivers? I'm still new to fiddling so much with my graphics drivers, but it seemed a bit strange to me that you told us to delete the resman kext, i thought it controlled the resolution for the desktop? REgards, BEnos.

GeForce 9600 GT natively supported in Mac OS X 10.5.6

Hey Lars, I followed your instructions and found out how to create an efi string here @ http://forum.netkas.org/index.php?topic=222.0 . Unfortunately I'm stuck on 1024x768 with no quartz extreme. I had the card running with QE full res with NVDarwin but it was fail at dual screening. Do you know where I could have gone wrong? I'm using iDeneb 10.5.5 upgraded to 10.5.6. Thanks, Benos.
  8. Hey Slashack, the source code for medevil's driver is here http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=77071 The driver in question is the -TEST one which allows use of the SATA DVD drives. If you take too long to get around to it, I might try merging your code into the source... dont let me stop you tho Cheers, Benos.
  9. The tutorial here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...mp;#entry481427 is good if your new to adding drivers to a leopard dvd(like me). The tutorial steps you through the process, you only need two extra things to be able to use his method... transmac(an app) and a windows pc to run it on. I tried to add drivers to extensions.mkext on leopard dvds and failed hard, but this tut is good Btw thx for the heads up on a compatible raid card to buy for osx justroach, your a champ.
  10. Hi, Thanks for this great speedstep app, Im keen on it since my Dell Inspiron 6400 runs so hot it burns my legs... I expect the cpu to run between 40-50celcius by your app's display. The question I have is this: I tried the latest app but it crashes with both an older kernel module and the latest... My report is this: Process: GenericCPUPMControl [263] Path: /Users/malpheus/Downloads/GenericCPUPMControl.app/Contents/MacOS/GenericCPUPMControl Identifier: com.superhai.GenericCPUPMControl Version: ??? (???) Did find: /System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/ImageIO.framework/Versions/A/Resources/libJPEG.dylib: no matching architecture in universal wrapper --------------------------------------------------- Does it crash because I am running a 32bit MacOSX? Thanks for the help. -Benos.
  11. Hey Sireg, I have the same card as you and krrr but it is rev01, i ran the kextload command and it said my IONetworkingFamily is not compatible, would you be able to upload that kext as well? That would be awesome if you could. Thanks, -Benos. ------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT: I ended up installing iatkosv4i back over the top of my previous install, and since I changed the ID on my card in linux it was detected straight away. Thanks for the info guys, it was helpful. Cheers, -Benos.
  12. Bad news guys The old installer seems to have worked way better... now when I use the latest installed I get no sound at all... here is a system profiler screenshot. I also received a BCM94311MCG wlan mini-pci (rev01) from ebay also known as the dell 1390, unfortunately can't get it to work either, I have a feeling it is the IONetworking.kext im using, I've got to try the vanilla 10.5.4 version, im not sure if the dell installer kept by original in backup because I have used the installer so many times? -Benos. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT: I got my sound working properly with headphones! It could have been the pci kext i installed while trying to get this wireless card to work. The last sound kext i installed was from v1.12. If I work out what was going wrong I'll post details. For now I'm gonna get back to working on getting this Wireless card working. This topic seems to be very helpful to me - http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...=128393&hl= Thanks again for all the help dudes -Benos. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT: I was able to get my system fully supported now except for the MMC which I dont really care about, but unfortunately I still cannot get my external monitor working with this 7300gs i got from ebay, its vga port could be stuffed, because it says my cable is not connected in system profiler. I was able to get my Sigmatel9200 working by using the argus applehda patcher and then using the dell installer. Turns out some of my kexts like IONetworkingFamily and IOPCIFamily were old versions and I had to re-install iatkosv4i over the top to fix it. I recommend people use that kextload command shown in this topic - http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...=128393&hl= - to check their kexts if they cannot get something to work. good luck maccing! -Benos. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT: Special thanks to Jurek, he led me in the right direction to get my external display working, now I have a lovely setup . My broadcom ethernet is still dodgy but I can live with a reliable wireless for now. If anyone with an Inspiron 6400 is looking to get their Nvidia 7300Go working on 10.5.4 with dual display, I can guarantee that it works perfect Just look at this topic - http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;&do=findComment&comment=778676 Thanks again Jurek, Good luck dellintoshing, Peace out -Benos.
  13. I tried the latest patch (35b) the only difference i noticed is that my sound card is actually now showing up in system profiler which is great! Unfortunately my problem still persists, the laptop speakers do not mute when I plug in my headphones. I've attached a screenshot of my sound card in the system profiler. I was also wondering what the hotkey is to switch to an external display? I had it working before with my atix1400 but haven't been able to get my nvidia gs7300 working yet. Gracias, Benos.
  14. Hi guys Im running an inspiron 6400, installed a go7300gs and my atix1400 is now sitting in the wardrobe. Now with the dual core patch my laptop is almost working at its full potential for me to work on it like its a mac. I still have heat problems which were there since the start, but i'm going to buy some arctic silver 5 to help with that. Currently I only have two small problems with my setup. My broadcom ethernet sometimes dies, even though after trying a lot of kexts it seems to not die as often now, just have to reset my laptop to get it working again. I've been trying to get my sigmatel 9200 working correctly now when I plug my headphones in, so that it will mute the internal speakers. The only way I have been able to get my sound working is by using the AppleHDA Patcher by using the attached hdapatcher and codec dump. It does not show up in System Profile under built in sound which is weird, because it still works? . I have tried using both carey and jason's kexts to get my sound working correctly but my soundcard is not detected at all. I have a feeling it could be something very simple like a different vendor id on my card? I can't see where to change it in the Info.plist however. Any help with me getting my inbuilt speakers to mute when I plug-in my headphones and have the card show in the System Profile would be highly appreciated. Peace Out. :wink2: Stac9200.txt AppleHDAPatcherv1.20.zip
  15. I've set my broadcom 440 ethernet to half duplex but it still crashes, i dont remember this problem ever occuring in earlier 10.5 kernels... I am currently using the 10.5.4 kernel which was compiled for dual core support, using dell inspiron 6400. I have tried using the kext from this thread as well as the kext that is in the dell setup package, but still get frustrating network crashes
