hork
I updated to 10.5.3 but now it seems my Graphics card isn't being detected. I used nvkush (I think that was it) on 10.5.2 and then updated to 10.5.3 using the comboupdater. When I start up Warcraft 3 it gives me this error: So I don't know what to do to fix it. Gujal
Do you have nVidia Graphics card? Everyone with NVidia and NVINJECT had their QE+CI disabled after the upgrade. Had to remove nvinject and use Graphics string to fix the issue
hork
Yeah, I have an Nvidia graphics card. An 8600GT 256MB to be exact. How do I edit the Graphics string?
flyingroti
I'm having a similar problem...thought the update went fine but then aperture wouldn't open (said my graphics card wasn't compatible) and iPhoto isn't working properly. Any chance someone would be kind enough to explain how to make the nvidia card work again? I tried -v -x at startup to no avail. Help will be so much appreciated. flyingroti
thanks for the replies guys...i have spent the day restoring my computer to 10.5.2 and getting everything working again. I think I might wait a little longer until I need the 10.5.3 to upgrade, but your suggestions will come in handy then.

Did you use Pacifist located in Applications->KOOLSOFTS ? If you simply installed it, it won't work. You must use Pacifist package installer. ericAZ480
Also had perfectly good working system in 10.5.2, have 8600GT graphics. Kalyway 10.5.3 combo update works but broke OpenGL (Quartz Extreme, etc), I tried the fix NVINSTALLER41 WITH PACIFIST, no luck thus far. I've manually manipulated NVinject,.kext, GeForce.kext etc back to 10.5.2 settings, and replace OpenGL.Framework with 10.5.2, also no luck. Was sure to correct permissions, removed Extensions.mkext, no luck. Also tried Punk's installer, no luck. Any assist would be great, I am operating with no OpenGL/Quartz Extreme right now, and I miss it! I won't downgrade just yet if someone has the fix. Again, Kalyway 10.5.2 combo update to 10.5.3, eVga 8600GT 512MB. All was working (Quartz Extreme) until combo update.
NecroMancer
I am using a GFX string since I installed 10.5.2 and after the update I too lost QE/CI... Will try the injector again...
Robosoft
Hi had all the issues in this post. fixed them using nvinstaller 4.1 (ran through pacifist) say yes to replacing any files. reboot gave me poblems booting so i booted with -v -x and i got the report saying nvinjectgo was invalid so i removed nvinject and nvinjectgo kext from the extentions folder . and did a reboot. all working. and as a bonus i got my sound recording back in photo booth. (which would only work if i used speedstepkernel) i still am having issues playing mpeg files from sony hdd camera get video but no sound in quicktime. all ok in mplayer. vlan - choppy sound. thanks keep it up! Robosoft
Just an update further reading tells me that quicktime will never support mpeg2 ac3 codec. so i converted the files to mpeg2 with mp2 audio, playing fine now. thanks
Apoc112
the NVinstaller 4.1 got my QE/CI working, but a few bugs to note: 1) on install and on subsequent startups, i get an error message about the NVinjectGO.kext extension not being installed properly. can i safely get rid of this file without corrupting anything, or is there a "correct" way to install it? 2) my system profiler now identifies my 8600GT 256 as having 768mb VRAM... this doesn't seem to be causing any issues yet for me, but i thought i'd mention it. anyone know if there's a reason for that, or a fix?
