lastsoft
first i wanted to thank you guy for all the effort. Codec: Realtek ALC883 Address: 0 Vendor Id: 0x10ec0883 Subsystem Id: 0x15580660 Revision Id: 0x100002 i have a bit of a problem with my alc 883 chipset. i used tarugas hdapatcher 1.16 1.f17 and 1.20 with the same result. i get the sound prefs ok. but i get no sound from any of the components there. it is showing internal speaker, line out, and hd out but i get no sound from the internal speakers and a very very very low sounds from the line out jack only when i turn the speakers volume all the way up and the volume in the my mac all the way up. i attached my linux codec dump for this computer. dump.txt
iNoob
As the HDA patcher development goes, maybe this would not be fixed. Looks like a "mute problem".

iNoob
Sorry, your codec isn't supported by AppleHDA. You'll have to use AppleAzaliaAudio to get your sound working. I will warn you: no input nor multiple outputs.

iNoob
Have you used a codec dump or you made yourself a codec dump?
McPhil
well thats the issue.. i boot up linux live and the audio doesnt even work with linux even tho it recognizes the make and model of my audio card.. ive tried all the codecs i could find and the most i am left with is at most 1 headfone port. then i found that applehda somewhere on here and i got 1 heafone port, one line out, and one audio. then i saw your thread and i saw a glimpse of light in a tunnel of no sound ( )
