iNoob
It's really simple. Thanks Taruga for that, the solution was made for the ALC883 codec, but it may work on others also. Edit info.plist and change<!-- HP --> <array> <array> <array> <dict> <key>NodeID</key> <integer>27</integer> </dict> to: <!-- HP --> <array> <array> <array> <dict> <key>NodeID</key> <integer>21</integer> </dict> And give it a try If it doesn't work, post here your linux dump and PM me. Hope it works for you! The Info.plist in question is the AppleHDA.kext's. Hope your Hacbooks/Hackbook Pros will work now

fassl
Kinda. I had Outputs/Inputs shown in Preferences but no sound at all. sYsT3m
Sorry, but I don't get it.. I have a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo M6450G with ALC880 Chipset. I used lots of hda patchers, but none of them worked. Finally I got sound working by using beta4some861_880Installer. Now it works when I plug in my Headphones, but no sound at all from the speakers. So my Question is, where is the file exactly located, which I have to edit ? Thanks for your help! EDIT: Sorry, found the file (where to know that "kexts" are archives), but your solution doesn't work for me. I tried the following: - bootet into Ubuntu Live, got the dump info for my ALC880. - booted into MacOSX, copied the original AppleHDA.kext from Kalyways DVD into /S/L/Extensions/ - let diskutility repair access rights - reboot - did the hdapatch 1.20 with my codecdump file - rebooted, nothing worked, no input / output devices - ran the beta4some861_880Installer - rebooted, sound works like before (only headphones) Note: In Ubuntu Live, I have the same issue, no Sound comes from the speakers, only from headphones. This problem only could be solved by compiling Alsa-driver |-utils |-libs 1.0.16 manually. I don't know what to do, maybe somebody can help. As described in the FAQs, I bootet most recent Version of KNOPPIX, and heres my codec dump. (In Knoppix the Sound workes perfectly, speakers sound is controlled by "Side", Headphones by "Front" Channel. codec_dump.txt Edited March 1, 2008 by sYsT3m
