Dj Leroy
I´m using the latest stock kernel, so the processor E2140 don´t enable the 64bits instructions of the kernel, just a hacked kernel can do it. So with my new E6750 no problems... Great job Andrly!!
xlars
Hey Guys,I finally downloaded the Chaos image and installed Tiger, I get an error on boot (black box after apple logo and scrollie wheel) I assumed this was normal, Im really interested in getting Leopard going anyway. I then used the boot loader to boot an Installed Leopard and I get the same error. System Asus p5k se, q6600, 2 gb, 8800gt, Raptor 150, sata dvdr This should be easy... Any Ideas, I must really be messing things up. Boot using -v (Press F8 then type -v) Afaik 8800GT is not supported yet

jsheppa
This is really getting frustrating. On a P5K-SE Board, SATA DVD AND HD. 1 HD, only Mac. No Windows of any kind. Tried MULTIPLE builds of 10.5.1, 10.4.8, 10.4.10. Virtually every one listed in this thread. The only actual installs I was "successful" in was iATKOS 10.5.1 and ChaOSX86 5. After installation when it goes to reboot, it hangs up at a flashing _. I believe this happens after what I believe says: Adapter 1: Hard Disk Information: No Hard Disk Detected. Something along those lines, anyway. I never actually see Darwin Bootloader. Any ideas?

Slip
P5K SE No go MoBo Most difficult board yet. I'll look for a USB ide adapter and see what happens. Updated Bios to 9xx , possibly made it worse. Most 10.4.10 disks hang with -v @ header and buffers. No where even close to installing. Leo disks hang at waiting for root device almost immediately. Flashed a PCI-e 1x sil3132 card to satalink and no go with any 10.4.10 ie uphuck or tubgirl. Not sure why that is. The patched sata files don't seem to bench very well with disk I/O . Could get better performance with Tiger and the SIL3132 but not yet. If i get there. Or sil3132 and leo if they update there driver. Resorting to winblows ? to make sure hardware works as new build with used CPU. sys P5K-SE C2D 6600 2.4 1gig kingston ddr2 800 sata 1.5 100g maxtor NV 7300 256 works 100% pioneer DVD R/W supported
Slip
Looks like might be able to get the " osx86hu_t5 " to install. Thanks for the link. Disabled onboard sata trying sil3132 Loads till SAM multimedia R/W errors after creating the ram drives. Either its bad media or needs sata dvd/usb drive option to install Trying another dvd. Slip
Hi Here's a xbench comparison of this MOBO first with a sata drive on a generic sil3132 pci-e 1x sata controller and on sata port 2 of the MOBO. Same install ,same drive just cable switch. Running osx86hu-T5 10.4.10 straight install. Installed with sata 1.5 drive on sata2 connector on MOBO and IDE DVD. Install managed successful reboot but startup disk doesn't show in preferences. Can repair with fdisk -e ? Will try leo eventually but can't install yet. Idea was a vanilla EFI box ,&&&& did i mention that this board has nice caps.! xlars
P5K-SE installing on a external USB HD: I tried for several times to install on an external USB HD without success, finally I got it this way: 1. Install Tiger and Leo in an internal HD. 2. Create DMG files for each one from diskutil 3. Partition the USB HD and restore each DMG in each partition. 4. If the USB HD does not boot, boot it from a Linux GRUB (installed on an internal IDE HD). Working great, both Tiger and Leo from USB HD :-)
