First of all, big thanks to @tluck for great work.

I've recently switched from T520 with Intel card only, which have been working perfectly on High Sierra, to W520 with nvidia card onboard. It is working fine, although I have some issues:

  • No image on external display on Intel card using display port. I've read that this is supported only on nvidia card, which leads to another issue.
  • Nvidia card is not working on thinkpad's LCD, I've installed latest web driver 'WebDriver-378.10.10.10.15.121.pkg' http://www.nvidia.co...26157/en-us andswitched to MacBook Pro 10,1 profile with no luck.
  • Two USB 3.0 ports - after adding mXHCD.kext from @jenyunhuang, it works but it is terribly slow. Does someone else experienced this issue?

Would somebody be willing to share theirs W520 configuration (config.plist, DSDT, kexts, etc...) or maybe give some advice on the above issues?

i always run sierra 12.6 on w520 now...the nvidia card of w520 cant enable in high sierra..

Not bad for an "old" Lenovo T420. More powerful than the actual Macbook Pro mid 2017, costing 2.105,59 €

Hey tluck!

I'm still on Sierra but plan to upgrade to High Sierra and would like to know what does not work at this point with your latest package compared to Siera. I'm especially worried about the optibay HDD but I saw a comment that there is a solution already.

Thanks.

If it`s possible, you can find a I7-2720QM for a few bucks. really makes a difference. I haven`t had problemes with heat, not a single one, even running virtual machines. But I think that T420s is slimmer.

It´s all about testing.

Hi all. Thanks for the hard work on this.

I've an issue, maybe Clover related:

usb mouse and apple keyboard doesn't work in the Clover boot screen.

After the OS has loaded no problems, but to choose partitions I have to open the lid and use
the arrows.

Quite annoying when using an external monitor.

Any thoughts?

everything works now - including bay drive. (for 10.13.2 beta need a newer Lilu than in the T420 github - the Beta OS installed on my system last night. - i just built the latest Lilu and it works.

there is an option to enable mouse for the Clover GUI. just change Enabled to true in the config.plist (GUI/Mouse section)

@Tetonne

1) i dont use hibernate so i dont know if we need anything? ( signaturefixup)

2) the max backlight is set/patched in the Clover patch for HD3000 framebuffer and is then aligned with the AppleBacklightInjector kext, so i dont think we need or want to mess with it here.

Hello,

can someone help me on Bluetooth. I bought this module:

Lenovo ThinkPad Bluetooth 4.0 Module 60Y3305

Chipset Manufacturer: Broadcom BCM20702MDLENO

I built it into the T420 and it works fine on Windows 10.

But under Sierra it will appear under USB Devices and will not work.

This appears under USB:

BCM20702A0:

  Produkt-ID:                                          0x21e6

  Hersteller-ID:                                       0x0a5c  (Broadcom Corp.)

  Version:                                               1.12

  Seriennummer:                                   74E54321E5CA

  Geschwindigkeit:                                 Bis zu 12 MBit/s

  Hersteller:                                            Broadcom Corp

  Standort-ID:                                         0x1a140000 / 4

  Verfügbare Stromstärke (mA):           500

  Zusätzlicher Betriebsstrom (mA):       0

  Integriert:                                             Ja

I use the version of here with Bluetooth_Injector_T429.kext in EFI.

Can someone help me with the bluetooth?

Hi,

I have the same module.

You have to use:

BrcmFirmwareRepo.kext and BrcmPatchRAM2.kext from rehabman to get the Firmware loaded.

And remove BlueTooth_Injector_T420.kext.

With that module I do not have any sleep and wake probs, so I do not use rc scripts
