  1. Thanks to Clover EFI Bootloader I was able to achieve almost perfect HacBook Pro from my Lenovo T420 This guide is work in progress and I’ll try to update it as often as I can outdated! For more updated guide head to tluck's post #481 (thanks tluck for taking over) Why UEFI Only? Faster boot time, better hardware detection, native Mac OS X Installation process and Auto create Recovery HD, working iCloud and iMessage to name a few. But in general you will achieve almost perfect Macbook Pro clone that will most likely survive all future System updates. Note: I’ll be focusing on Mountain Lion but I guess Lion would work equally good. Lets start by preparing Mac OS X install media. You will need: - Working Mac OS X 10.6 or later (Hackintosh, Virtual machine or real Mac) - 8GB+ USB pen-drive - Legal copy of Mountain Lion install app - and an app called Lion Disk Maker - my custom Clover Package: Clover_v2_r1625k0.pkg.zip Prepare Mountain Lion install media using Lion DiskMaker. Making install media bootable on your ThinkPad Run my custom Clover Package and change the install destination to the Mountain Lion install media you’ve just created using Lion DiskMaker. Generaly you don't have to worry about anything else it is all customized to work best on all ThinkPads. Note (optional): At this point you can use another FAT32 formatted pen-drive to install Clover on to it. This pen-drive needs to be capable of storing at least 25MB+ of data. System installation Insert prepared OS X Mountain Lion Install Disk - 10.8 in your ThinkPad and set to boot in UEFI Only mode. And wait for the boot loader. You should be presented with screen like this: Now start the installation process just like you would on a normal Mac. Partition your drive with GUID table and install. Adding Extra drivers using myHack You now should be running vanilla Mac OS X 10.8. Before you start upgrading and instaling software now is a good time to add missing drivers and install them in a clean and proper manner using myHack. 1. Download Extra Folder: Extra.zip 2. Download myHack and place it in your Application folder 3. Run myHack and choose myFix. When asked about Extra folder choose "Use My Own" and point to downloaded Extra folder from step 1. Reboot and check if everything is working fine. By everything, beside AppleACPIPlatform.kext ver 1.3.5, I mean Sound and Battery meter cause these are the only kexts that are in Extra/Extentions Making your custom configuration using OEM folder ... under construction... Booting Clover EFI Bootloader from system drive It's time to get rid of the osx pen-drive you've been booting all the time and install my custom Clover to your main disk and boot directly from your hard drive EFI partition. This step is identical to the "Making install media bootable on your ThinkPad" but this time you will be using your main drive. Just make sure your disk drive is selected when installing. Note: Now You can customize your installation. You have the choice to install Clover Preference Panel and Optional RC scripts. Remove pen-drive and reboot. If all went well you should be booting from your hard drives EFI partition now. Good luck! Software worth mentioning Clover EFI bootloader (thread) - (source code) - (changelog) - (wiki) CloverGrower (post) - (source code) HWMonitor + HWSensors (thread) - (source code) DSDT Editor (thread) DarwinDumper (thread) ... Thanks and credits @Slice, @dmazar and all Clover thread members, @joshhh and all T510 thread members, @gothic860 and all W520 thread members, @Manwe150 and all T420 thread members .…. to be continued. Update 2013-01-20: Flashed latest UEFI Bios version 1.43 + whitelist and started fresh DSDT patching Update 2013-01-30: Uploaded new LenovoEFI_Pack_Beta2.zip (from now on I'll be attaching latest version to this thread). I've started using the EFI/OEM/4180A32 folder specific for my T420 model and added minimal config in the root that should work for everyone else (testers needed). My latest DSDT.aml in EFI/OEM/4180A32/ACPI/patched and updated ThinkPad theme is included. Update 2013-05-15: Updated the post to reflect some changes and progress made in this topic. Using custom Clover r1625 that has all the stuff Lenovo UEFI user needs. This one is enabled to install to ESP by default with ThinkPad Theme and RC scripts and example EFI/CLOVER/OEM/4180A32 folder.
  2. I have a Lenovo ThinkPad T520. When I select to boot off of the USB drive, the underscore blinks once and then returns me to the boot selector menu. The USB has OS 10.7.0 with Chimera 1.8.0 as the bootloader. System Specs: Motherboard: Intel® QM67 Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-2820QM (2.30GHz, 8MB L3, 1333MHz FSB) Memory: 8GB DDR3 - 1333MHz (2 DIMM Slots) Graphics: Discrete NVIDIA® NVS 4200M (1GB VRAM ) with Optimus™ Technology, Intel® Integrated HD Graphics
  3. Hello everyone, For the past few days, I have been trying to get the audio working on my ThinkPad T510 with macOS Sierra. I have read all of the guides on the forum, I can link them if anyone needs them, and I still have no audio. As far as I know, the T510 uses the Conexant CX20585. For most people, this seems to work with kexts they have posted. Below are the methods I tried: - Using .kext s people have provided under Guides and Downloads on the InsanelyMac forum. Not Working - Modifying AppleHDA through Clover. Not Working - Try other verison of Mac OS X (Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite, Mavericks). Not Working This has led me to believe that I am ether completely missing a step in a guide, or I am doing something wrong. Or, that my specific ThinkPad T510 uses a different audio codec. Any help I can get, will be appreciated. I hope someone here could help me. Thanks In Advance.
  4. Hey! My new project is to get Snow Leopard (my favorite system so far) running on a ThinkPad X61t. Since the other threads are a little old or based on Lion I would like to start a new topic to collect the files and informations needed for the last version of Snow Leopard. I'm also askinga other ThinkPad X61 users to share their experiences and files here! I will also keep the first thread updated until the project is finished. Basic Information about ThinkPad X61Series: CPU Intel Core 2 Duo T7100 (1.80 Ghz), T7250 (2.00 Ghz), T7300 (2.00 Ghz), T7500 (2.20 Ghz), T8100 (2.10 Ghz), T8300 (2.40 Ghz), T9300 (2.50 Ghz), L7300 (1.40 Ghz), L7500 (1.60 Ghz), L7700 (1.80 GHz) Grafic Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 Display 12.1" with one of the following displays: TFT display with 1024x768 IPS display with 1024x768 IPS display with 1024x768 and MultiTouch AFFS-IPS display with 1400x1050 Memory 2 PC2-5300 memory slots (max 4 Gb / with middleton Bios 8 Gb) Drive 1 SATA 2.5" drive Sound Intel HD Audio with AD1984 codec Network Ethernet: Intel Gigabit, Wlan Mini-PCI Intel PRO 3945ABG or 4965AGN, Bluetooth 2.0 Other: 3x USB 2 Integrated Fingerprint Reader in some models SD Card slot CardBus slot (Type 2) Firewire 400 (IEEE1394a) in Tablet Series: Wacom Serial Tablet PC Stylus Tablet Hardware Buttons Docingstations: for X61/X61s: ThinkPad X6 UltraBase / for Tablet: ThinkPad X6 Tablet UltraBase: Features: Ethernet, Modem, 4x USB 2, VGA, Serial-port, Parallel-port, Microphone, Headphone, Ultrabay Slim CD/DVD-Combo Middleton BIOS: Before you blow away Windows on your ThinkPad X61 you will probably want to run the Middleton BIOS hack first. It replaces the BIOS. You know that command line looking gibberish before windows comes up? Well it’s important stuff, it tells the operating system what kind of hardware the PC has. Why this hacked BIOS? As it turns out the X61 line has SATA-1 or just SATA, not SATA-2, even though the hardware is capable of it. As you can imagine, it limits the speed of hard drives in there, especially if you have an SSD. So if you have an SSD, you really need to do this. The instructions are pretty clear but there are two ways of doing it. One is to run the included exe file in Windows. The other way is to burn the included ISO file to a blank CD, boot off it, and run the BIOS flash that way. 6. You want to install the Yosemite (10.10.3) to ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 3! However, it is likely there are many failures. Anyway, from where you create an environment in Clover, you start. Still, before you are installing from a USB memory, and because they stopped, it will be saved and get from the information in the side. --- Reference site: * How To Install OS X Yosemite Using Clover * Lenovo ThinkPad T420 with UEFI Only * Installation Notes: Hackintosh on a new laptop with Intel Broadwell processor -> Intel HD Graphics 5500: 0x80861616 ??? --- Specifications: MTM: 20BTZ0A1US (this is a US model) CPU: Intel Core i7-5600U (2.0 GHz – Up to 3.2 GHz) – Broadwell Graphics: Intel HD Graphics HD5500 (24 cores – 0.95 GHz) RAM: 8GB of 1600MHz DDR3L RAM (Dual Channel) – Soldered Storage: Samsung SM951 256GB M.2 2280 SSD (SATAIII + PCIe 2.0 4x) Display: 2560x1440 IPS 14.1 inches widescreen Keyboard: US layout with backlit WLAN: Intel Wireless-AC 7265 (Up to 300/867 Mb/s) WWAN: Ericsson N5321gw ===[search tags]=== * Lenovo ThinkPad X1C3 * Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 3 * Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 3rd Gen * Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 3rd Generation * Lenovo New ThinkPad X1 Carbon * Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon (2015)
  7. Hi Everyone. i have a Lenovo ThinkPad L440 running MacOS Sierra 10.12.2 with latest Clover Version. Intel Core i5 4300m Intel HD Graphics 4600 BCM94352z Wifi Realtek ALC292 Samsung SSD 128GB OEM Display Panel was 1366x768 (Upgraded to *LTN140HL02* IPS 1080p Display Panel) so far i managed to get almost everything working except: iMessage Trackpoint SD Card & VGA port (which to be honest i don`t even consider them as an issue since VGA is a legacy stuff and about SD Card Reader i have a USB HUB with a SD Card which works all fine.) But i have a really annoying problem with my Upgraded Display Panel which is Manufactured by Samsung (LTN140HL02) its a 1080p display and looks really good but sometimes the laptop screen goes black at half apple logo bar during boot and stays at that state until i force hold power button to Shutdown/Restart. It doesn`t happen everytime boot its really annoying. The same issue can be produced if i change display Resolutions at Sysprefs>Display and go from 1920x1080 to 1600x900 or 1366 x 768 or vice versa, System Hangs at black screen if i try switching 2-3 times from one resolution to the other, its really annoying.u can`t game or use any other full screen app where u set different resolution than your native 1920x1080,you are forced to use 1920x1080 so the display doesn`t change resolution so the bugg can appear. i tried to share screen or remote control, for some reasons none of them work. for example i set Teamviewer to launch at boot, tried to reboot few times to produce the bug, after screen goes black,i can see on my other laptop that L440 has just signed in notification,i try to connect but gets stuckk at connecting. i tried screen share,if laptop boots normally screen share works,if it is on that black screen state,it gets stuckk at connecting. So i think when screen stays black the system hangs/freezes or something because i first thought its a EDID issue but i can say that it doesn`t seem to be the case.i dumped from windows, injected on clover, created a display override, still same issue. Hope someone has came across this and have a solution. On my Old OEM display Panel,i don`t have that problem. The new panel works fine on Windows,it has no issues.
