Hey guys so I partitionedmy hard drive into two sections, and first installed windows 7 on one, then snow leopard on the other. Updated it to 10.6, used the ###### hack via usb to install lion and successfully installed lion on the second partition. My problem is is that when I installed snow leopard, a chameleon bootloader was installed, so after I installed lion, i couldn't use that bootloader, it would boot, and then kernel panic. The only way i could boot into lion would be to use the ###### usb drive. Once i got into lion, i installed the chimera bootloader from ###### for lion, and when I restart my computer I have the bootloader with both os's, and when i click my hackintosh parition, the apple logo flashes, and then the computer restarts. I tried installing mac os x all over again and windows, and the same thing happens, i'm going crazy. I read some where that I should install chameleon onto the hackintosh partition with lion again. I found a chameleon.pkg installer that would do it for me, which would then allow me to dual boot windows 7 and lion, but i'm afraid of messing it up again. Can someone help me? What do I do? I'm going crazyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Your over thinking a bit. Chameleon is a 3 stage bootloader (Chimera is a Chameleon branch, so is also Chameleon). First part is Boot0 which is installed to the first 440bytes of the disk on the MBR, read by bios. Second is Boot1h, installed to the first 512bytes of your HFS+ partition. Third is Boot, which is installed to the root "/" of your HFS+ partition. When you upgade from SL to ML, Boot0 is not effected, but there is still a need to reinstall Chameleon because the other needed boot files are not present. So as to what happens to your previously installed SL bootloader, half of it is now gone, and half is still there. Also ML requires a newer version of the bootloader than SL. So run this Chameleon-2.1svn-r2064.pkg.zip package installer and it will replace the older Boot0 on the MBR from SL and install the other needed boot files to your new ML partition.

It didn't change anything, there was something in the flash drives extra folder that was being used to help you boot, could be dsdt, smbios, org.chameleon.Boot.plist settings

with windows on same drive, use boot0hfs instead of boot0

Lets go all the way back to the first thing you said, after upgrading to Lion from SL it would kernel panic...What was the kernel panic? Bootloader may not be your issue.

You'll also want to post your hardware specs
