1. Downloaded theme called Yosemite and put it in extra/themes/ and changed the resolution. And in org.chameleon.boot.plist <key>Theme</key> <string>Yosemite</string> But chameleon still displays the black and white prompt!

HP DV6 2150us install help

Hello- So I have been trying dilligently for days to get OSX Yosemite installed on my HP Pavillion dv6 2150us laptop. I have tried all kinds of different flags and bios settings and in verbose i get all the way to a point where that screen looks like it changes to a GUI but it is garbled lines that i cant make anything of. I am looking for pretty much a walkthrough on how to get this working. I am using a legitimate copy of OSX Yosemite from my wifes MacBook Air but I would like to install El Capitan (which I can get from her MacBook when I update it). What would be the best bootloader for my install? Kexts? really any and all help would be appreciated. Attached are hardware and system info screenshots. Thank you all so much in advance. Its my first post but I have been lurking the forums for weeks getting tons of information from other's posts but I just haven't been able to get it right yet.
3. Hi, I successfully installed el capitan on my laptop (HP-DV6 6c55se) almost everything work good except : - I need boot flags like -v and -f to system boot, I tried to edit Extra/org.chameleon.Boot .plist but it's didn't work, So I don't know why and where the bootloader boot flags. - I have tow graphic card (intel HD 3000 - ATI 6790m) ATI doesn't work but intel work with VRAM (Dynamic, Max): 384 MB
5. Hi, I`m using ESXi 5.5 U1 and Mavericks 10.9.4 VM. Creating clean install and start testing. I have been unable to get any bootloader to load after start Mac OS X VM (Mavericks 10.9.4). After installing and reboot VM going to default Mac screen, and if I make changes in bootloader, they do not reflect. Example installing on clean VM Chameleon (or other bootloader) and make changes (-v, loading kexts .. etc) and after reboot this changes do not reflect! Testing with Chimera, Chameleon and Clover. They don't work... Any ideas?
6. Hello everyone, I Need a clear Guide to install Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan On Dell Inspiron n5110 with the following aspects: Intel® Core i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30 GHz 2.30 GHz Ram : 6 GB nVidia GeForce GT 525M I prefer to use chameleon not clover Thanks
7. Hi everyone... Short question: I got my MacPro1,1 running OS X Mavericks using Chameleon Bootloader. But I also have a (Boot Camp) HD that runs Win7 64Bit which also needed some time to make it work because Apple doesn't want a MacPro1,1 running Win7 64Bit. Any idea how I can simply add this HD to the Bootloader's menu? Or do I have to completely build this HD from scratch? Thanks in advance for some good ideas or hints. Cheers Ralf
8. I finally managed to successfully install Mavericks (10.9.2) on my PC, everything worked fine. I thought it would better to make a backup of the system like what I did with Mountain Lion. So I created a dmg with CCC. But when I restored the system with Disk Utility, I got a boot1 error. I'v tried the boot1h method, it didn't work. I booted into Mavericks with Chameleon CD, and reinstalled Chameleon, still no luck. Since I have Windows installed on my machine, I'v always booted into systems directly with grub4dos. Restoring Mountain Lion the same way has never resulted in this error. Does anyone have any idea what I should do to fix? Thanks for any input.

Problem Making Chameleon

Hey guys, I've posted on this twice before with limited response, so here i thought maybe i must provide insight into my problem. So GraphicsEnabler injection doesn't work for me, and i saw this guide here that would allow me to edit my ati.c file(attached) and recompile chameleon. Everything works until the last step where I have to type 'make' and i get this error here: Can anyone give me insight on how to fix this? Or at least can anyone replace their ati.c file in their source folder : /trunk/i386/libsaio/ and make this config and send me that file? I'll be very grateful Thanks in advance!! ati.c.zip
10. I loaded 10.6.5 on a Acer netbook yesterday. I used a ton of info from these forums that made the job easy and smooth. Thanks a ton for that. I was using my Lenovo Windows 8.1 laptop to chase down files for the install. Some how, in my zeal to get the netbook going, I ended up with Chameleon on my Lenovo. This is NOT my project for the iAtkos install. It doesn't seem to hurt anything. I get a wait screen at boot but it adds a significant amount of time to boot. I have search around but the only answers I can find are for preserving or changing the boot to OSx which I do not have on this machine. Does anyone know how to uninstall Chameleon? This is NOT a dual boot question. I just want the old single boot WIndows 8 function back. Thanks in advance for any help.
11. Hi, I've dual boot (win 7, ML) MBR partition using EasyBCD. When I select ML from the boot menu, then chameleon enoch 2070 takes command but it chooses wrong default boot partition. I have to select manually 'MacintoshHD (ML partition)' to boot. It's not a problem but quite annoying. Apart from MacintoshHD partition, I do have another HFS+ partition (named MacBackup). This is diskutil list output: /dev/disk0 #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER 0: FDisk_partition_scheme *320.1 GB disk0 1: 0x27 15.0 GB disk0s1 2: Windows_NTFS SYSTEM RESERVED 106.9 MB disk0s2 3: Windows_NTFS eMachines 154.6 GB disk0s3 4: Windows_NTFS Backup 95.3 GB disk0s5 5: Apple_HFS MacBackup 12.1 GB disk0s6 6: Apple_HFS MacintoshHD 43.0 GB disk0s7 I did add following in org.chameleon.Boot.plist <key>Default Partition</key> <string>hd(0,6)</string> However, it didn't help. I want chameleon to point MacintoshHD as a default NOT MacBackup.
13. I have installed a few types of Mac OS X on this laptop (10.6.3, 10.6.8 & 10.7) and i can never get a single bootloader to install. I have tried the following: ##### Chimera Installer PC-EFI Installer MyHack Installer Chameleon Installer I have tried to manually write the boo0 and boot1 files using DD, i have tried install the bootloaders onto the small 200mb formatted EFI partition and nothing happens whenever i try boot from i HDD i get the following type boot errors and messages. Could there be a feature on this laptop, A Western Digital, shipped with the laptop that would prohibit the installation of a osx86 bootloader. I have successfully installed windows, various linux's and BSD's on the laptop and never had problems, Its just that no bootloader will install. ---EDIT------EDIT------EDIT------EDIT------EDIT------EDIT------EDIT--- Found out that it is due to the fact that this drive has a feature called advanced format which autocatically uses 4kb allocation which means that Chameleon cannot install using the usual technique. I managed to install the bootloader but you will need to follow the following steps. You will need a Ubuntu Live CD. Boot into the ubuntu session and copy the following two files from the Chameleon package = "boot0" and "boot1h" issue the following command dd if=boot0 of=/dev/sda bs=440 count=1 and also dd if=boot1h of=/dev/sdaX bs=4096 - sdaX is whatever partition you OSX is held (i.e sda2) Now exit ubuntu and boot your mac using an ##### CD, You need to use the CD and you may not be able to boot from the HDD just yet. When you are in the mac, run a bootloader insaller package (Chimera, PC-EFI, yada yada yada) Customize your /Extra folder for you particular hardware. These are the exact steps i took to install a bootloader with this "Advanced Format" feature, I hope it can be of help to other who have had this problem.
14. Hey guys, I succesfully installed Snow Leopard. After a BIOS-update I was able to install Snow Leopard using I Boot and the PCIRootUID=1 command. But... I still need to boot it with I Boot and the PCIRootUID command. When I tried to install ##### it showed up an error. And now I got Chameleon up and running, but it doesnt work. It even stops the computer booting an installation on USB or DVD! I guess the error is somewhere in Chameleon or my DSDT but I'm not sure. There was a time i saw the verbose saying something about DSDT or something, but i don't know what exactly and what command i tried to show that. Can anybody help me? I will show a picture of the booting error when i use the command PCIRootUID=1 -v when im booting from the installed Chameleon. [screens are below] Thanks in advance, ReDNaX Configuration: Motherboard: ASUS Maximus II Formula CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad 9450 RAM: OCZ ReaperX HPC 4GB DDR2-1000 Graphics Card: ASUS EAH5870 (ATI 5870) Sound Card: SupremeFX with Creative X-Fi chip (came with my Motherboard) WLAN Card: DLink DWA-556 Photo's: Chameleon with first command PCIRootUID=1 -v PCIRootUID=1 -x -v PCIRootUID=1 cpus=1 -v

Agradeco alguma ajuda...
16. Hi, I just got a new 2TB WD Caviar Blue drive to mainly keep my files and have Mac OS X on it too. I have it partitioned in MBR with 1 partition of 200GB HFS+ and the remainder a 1.62.. NTFS. I can boot the installer USB just fine and install ML on the 200GB partition but when I install chimera(or chameleon or clover) to it and try to reboot using the new bootloader it hangs at boot0: error and for clover boot0af: error (OR if I install boot0ss, boot0ss: error). The drive's sector size is 512bytes, checked via diskutil and windows fsutil(no 4K advanced format). The drive is connected at Marvell 88SE9172 and previously(with same results) at X79 Sata3 both 6Gb/s and 3Gb/s. Any ideas? EDIT: It really was a 4K drive, note to anyone with this drive: All WD20EAR* drives use 4K advanced format but the firmware emulates 512B sectoring, software will report they are 512B physical sectors, they are NOT!
17. I was running on my laptop, an Asus G1Sn, both win7 and SnowLeopard retail, thanks to chameleon 2.0 RC3 and everything was fine. Few days ago I decided to re-install win but unfortunately, it install the win bootloader too so now i cannot boot OsX and chameleon just disappeared. Honestly i don't remember how i did it the first time, was long time ago, but for sure I installed mac running chameleon from usb and after I put it on my laptop, and before i was running a non-vanilla version of OsX. All I've tried so far was completely useless, is there any way to run from usb or install chameleon using win or a linux live-cd?? Or even better reanimate the previous chameleon? Thanks a lot.
18. Finally I got kernelcache loading in Chameleon! 1 - Edit /usr/standalone/bootcaches.plist and set "Preferred Compression" to lzss <key>Preferred Compressions</key> <string>lzss</string> 2 - Rebuild kext caches: kextcache -system-prelinked-kernel kextcache -system-caches 3 - Edit chamaleon preferences /Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist and add this setting: <key>Kernel Cache</key> <string>/System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/kernelcache</string> 4 - remove "-f", "UseKernelCache=no" from kernel flags, keep it like this (add -v optionaly) and set UseKernelCache to Yes: <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>kext-dev-mode=1</string> <key>UseKernelCache</key> <string>Yes</string> That´s it! Reboot and it will work. The step 3 is the missing piece. Without it, chameleon doesn´t know where is the kextcache. ps: Using lastest chameleon (cbv2...)
19. Installed 10.10.1 with Yosemite zone. Everything works great but I want to remove clover and use only chameleon,is there any way of doing this?
20. Let me start off by saying that I am willing to pay for some extra help if necessary. I love Yosemite and I've been struggling with this for a couple weekends, so if someone does a great job of helping out I can definitely recognize that via PayPal. I have an HP DV6t-6100 with Insyde f1.b BIOS, i7 2820QM, Intel HD 3000 graphics and a Radeon HD 6770m 2gb on 16gb RAM and a hybrid 1tb drive partitioned 872gb Windows 7 / 128gb OS X Yosemite (hopefully). I also have a 1920x1080 resolution screen that I don't care about getting working correctly, I just want to at least install. I currently am attempting a ##### boot (so if I understand correctly, Chimera/Chameleon). Previously, I've gotten as far as to run the installer in Yosemite Zone and even had a bootable Yosemite with -x and CPUs=1. I would go back to Yosemite Zone(at least I knew it could work) but for the life of me I cannot get the installer to run again. I can't get the bootloader to boot past the forward slash symbol in the upper left corner, and I don't know which version I had that was running. I've tried 3 out that I've found to each have different file sizes from various torrent networks and google searched - none of them work. I get the bootloader to run - I select the USB drive of my four options to boot into, and using the boot flags -v, and CPUs=1 I get this screen here: Notice that I have a lapic_kernel panic, on an HP laptop, which is typical. But look at my boot flags!! I have CPUs=1 set. I normally use -x as well, but I forgot here and it creates the same message regardless. I have a quad core It's common knowledge that HP Laptops have local APIC issues, well documented, and there is already a KernelPatcher.dylib fix for the issue(shouts out to donovan6000? I think). Supposedly you can use CPUs=1 as a short term fix for the issue. Obviously this isn't the case for me. Regardless of the fact that CPUs=1 didn't resolve the issue in my case, I tried to use KernelPatcher.dylib, installed it in the Extra/modules folder using TransMac, and after I did that I got even less far in the bootloader process. I don't care about working audio, working high resolution graphics, or anything else. If I can get to barely crawl through the boot and install process and get to a functioning Finder window I will be 100% happy. I can do the rest of the playing around with kext files stuff later, right now I just want it to boot. Aside from the KernelPatcher.dylib I threw into Extra/modules (and then took out) I am using a completely virgin copy of ##### on a 64gb SanDisk USB drive. My ##### options: Yosemite 10.10.1 downloaded from Mac App Store on a real copy of Yosemite Laptop Support On Legacy USB On (didn't think I would need this one but without it I can't seem to load Chimera) I don't have a DSDT file, and I'm not sure if I need one. I've looked at tonymacs DSDT section and they have HP ProBook but that's the closest thing I could find - didn't seem like quite a good fit. Was I wrong? My motherboard, as typical of Insyde f1.b, is locked. It is using BIOS. The options I have from memory are.. Virtualization(enabled) action keys(enabled) changes Fx keys to require holding fn+Fx key, don't think this matters switchable graphics fixed/dynamic(set to fixed.) this controls how the dual graphics switch, all the guides I've read have said to stick with Fixed so I haven't experimented too much out side of this setting. fan always on(disabled) I think this lets the fan turn off if the CPU is cool enough. Don't think this matters, but my fan doesn't turn off during bootloader anyways lol My hard drive is a fusion 20gb flash 980gb HDD. I don't know how this correlates to the bootloader - I've tried dropssdt=yes a couple times but it doesn't seem to do anything different. But like I said I did get Yosemite Zone running ONCE but I cannot(and believe me I have tried) get it to run again. I am definitely doing something wrong. I'd like to stick with ##### if possible, but I'm open to whatever, I'm even going to buy a second USB stick in a couple days here to test out two easily. SO right now KernelPatcher.dylib is not installed, but it can be in a second. LET ME KNOW if there is ANY more information I can provide, I will be happy too. I tried to put everything I could think of in here. I've seen videos and posts of people with my same model of laptop, DV6t-6100, running Yosemite(more commonly mavericks) showing off that they have like 99% of the laptop working, so I know it's possible, I just don't know how they got there. I would be ecstatic if I could get this working tonight. Any help is so, so appreciated.
21. Hi, So I recently followed a tutorial by Chris111 (or something like that) on how to install Yosemite on my PC. I've been spending hours and hours trying to get my mackintosh up and running after trying a million times with different installers (chameleon, uni--.-.-.-.-.-beast). Originally, with (the naughty word), i was getting an AppleUSBxhci kext error but now with chameleon i'm getting AppleUSBAudio error. Any help is appreciated! ---My Specs--- CPU - Intel Xeon e3-1230v3 GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 ----------------- Thanks!
22. Hi everyone, I'm having an issue with a friend's laptop. The specs are as follows: Intel Core i7-4700MQ Motherboard: W230ST 16 GB DDR3 Intel HD 4600 integrated Nvidia GTX 765M dedicated As far as I understand, we'll be unable to to use Nvidia card, this is fine, he's okay with using integrated graphics instead. I used a typical method posted on another site (I'm sure you can guess) to create an installer USB. I have not edited it further, it has all the default kexts/boot flags. When using verbose boot, it is clear the installer will never fully load. Instead, it will hang on "[iOBluetoothHCIController][start] -- completed" From what I've read, this suggests that the issue is not related to Bluetooth, but in fact the graphics card. Apparently it is able to load the installer, but freezes when trying to use the graphics card to display the install screen. I have tried nearly every combination of boot flags, PCIRootUID, npci, -v, -f, -x, GraphicsEnabler (Yes and No), IntelAzulFB=1-15, and several others. Safe mode boot does not work (hangs in the same spot). Single user mode will work, allowing me to manipulate folders and move kexts around. Based on others' suggestions, I have removed all AppleIntelHD* and AppleIntelF* kexts. I've read countless forum posts from people with a similar issue, unfortunately to no avail. It appears as if most people are able to boot into safe mode, which I am not. I'm effectively at my wits end, I'm no newbie to hackintosh but this problem has me stumped. If anyone has any ideas as to what I could be missing, I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks very much! Joe

Chameleon installing problems HELP!

Hi, I'm a little newbie with this. I'm trying to install Chameleon 2033 using Chameleon Wizard 4.1. My problem is that although I have selected the correct install option (I hope), my laptop doesn't boot. When I try to boot without Hackboot CD (v7) appears the error that I have attached to this post. Could anybody help me? Regards Antonio EDIT: I have only one partition defined.
24. Hey Guys, need some help with my Mountain Lion Installation. I have a very smooth running 10.7.3 with GraphicsEnabler=Yes and a custom Personality for dual Monitor Support. System specs are: Rampage II Extreme Intel i7 920 Sapphire Radeon HD 4890 2GB Current Custom Kexts in 10.8 are: FakeSMC - some old version don't know if it ever got updated but it works fine in lion IONetworkingFamily\Yukon2.kext IOBlockStorage - some patched plist for proper detection of the ICH10R chipset My problem is that the GraphicsEnabler simply does not inject the card into 10.8. I am not able to get to the login screen with GraphicsEnabler=Yes. If i boot with GraphicsEnabler=No then OS X is loading some generic NV50HAL driver which only gives me 1440x900 Resolution w/o QE/CL. This behaviour is also different from Lion, where even when GraphicsEnabler=No the right driver is picked but because of the wrong standard personality the dual monitors aren't working. Does anybody else ran into that problem and might give me a hint what i'm doing wrong? If you need more information i will be happily answer your questions. thanks in advance maltba
25. Installed ML on HP HDX 16 using ###### method. Then used Chameleon 2.1 as bootloader. Noted that after install, whenever I updated the boot config file (org.Chameleon.Boot.plist in /Extra) using GUI tools (e.g. Chameleon Wizard), the permissions would change and the system would freeze during booting. Upon closer inspection, I realized that the permissions on the file which allowed the system to boot fully was 666 (rw-rw-rw-). Every time the permission changed to prevent write permission to "group", "others", the system would refuse to boot. Changing them back to 666 (chmod 666 /Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist) would allow the system to boot smoothly again. So to everyone who encounter unexplained boot freezes, I would giving this a shot; it may just work out for you. PS: Sorry if this has been covered earlier; didn't search the forums.
