On June 30, 2012, we lost Samantha, better known as RevoGirl.

She died of complications after a bone marrow transplant.

She was just 16. She was a bright girl well known both in this forum and in the OSx86 community at large.

She leaves behind quite some work useful for the community.

Our thoughts are with her brother, Pike, and the rest of her family.

Rest in peace, dear friend, you won't be forgotten.

High Flight by John Magee

Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth,

And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

Sunwards I’ve climbed and joined the tumbling mirth

Of sun-split clouds – and done a thousand things

You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung

High in the sunlit silence. Hovering there,

I’ve chased the shouting wind along and flung

My eager craft through footless halls of air,

Up, up the long delirious burning blue

I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace,

Where never lark, or even eagle, flew;

And, while with silent, lifting mind I’ve trod

The high untrespassed sanctity of space,

Put out my hand, and touched the face of god.

Pilot Officer Gillespie Magee

No 412 squadron, RCAF

Killed 11 December 1941

R.I.P. Samantha,

May you fly higher ever still, as the mark you left upon this earth shall remain visible, no matter the height.
