yes, 32bit,

with default stock driver, animation when open Launchpad is smooth, but no qe/ci description in system properties and also with mouse lag

then i 'm updated the vga driver and ps2 driver from

http://www.kexts.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=1448

can i use the stock driver, but remove the mouse lag and show qe/ci in system properties?

thanks in advance

but when i opened an app i just work, like iMovie and the games, there is where i know that is enabled, hope it was helpful

Snow and Lion doesn't show QE/CI status in System Profiler.

If you can run DVD Player or Launchpad has smooth animations, everything just works.

I will check these drivers in a moment.

By the way, you can control brightness? Tell me about your Chameleon branch/version and show your smbios.plist file, specifically SMproductname, because sleep will depend on this.

I attach my current files, which runs brightness control (needed kext is here). I added a new version of iASL and slightly reworked patch for my Toshiba A200-1FJ with X3100 in DSDT Auto-Patcher - you know, maybe it can help somebody.

i can't control brightness with Fn key, cause these key doesn't work in my notebook. but i'm using Shades (DL from softpedia) to control brightness :D

http://mac.softpedia.com/get/System-Utilities/Shades.shtml

i'm using chameleon 2.0 RC5 r1200 VS and these my current smbios setting

i'll try your kext to control brightness with keyboard, thank you for sharing

but i'm using Shades (DL from softpedia) to control brightness
Shades (but I recommend Shady from Mac App Store - it works faster) is using just an software based overlay on screen. I'm now enjoying hardware brightness support with this shiny sun controller. (: Using 1st method from linked tutorial with GenericBrightness.kext. The only issue - my Fn+F6/F7 don't work, instead I can use Fn+F12/PauseBreak, but this is just cosmetic bug.

So, I've installed Champlist and moved from Chimera v1.4.1 r877 to Chameleon v2.0-RC5 r1269. Then I have changed SMBios.plist to MacBookPro5,1, simply replaced kexts with linked few posts up (+ permissions, etc.) and... I have a little :hysterical:P4030549.JPG

But then I've just removed GraphicsEnaber=Yes from org.Chameleon.boot.plist and voila! Menubar is using transparency, Lauchpad runs smoothly, so QE/CI works. 32bit of course.

Yes, I have mouse lag. Someone told me about renaming/deleting AppleUpstreamUserClient.kext, but this trick doesn't work for me.

Thanks guys. Now I've almost fully working hackintosh. Just few little devices, cosmetics and I will make clean install with App Store version.

I'm having random freezings.

*They can happen after hours of booted or just minutes => totally random

*No logs anywhere

*Mouse keeps moving and can be controlled by pad/usb

*SSH remote connection establishes perfect, can execute TOP command and everything seems keep working normally.

I'm confident this is a problem with GMA x3100 144mb 0x2a02.

My notebook is a Gateway M-series (m-6880):

Hoping someone may be able to point me in a good direction to travel for assistance. I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 that I have modified slightly, [swapped the CPU, Ram, and Hard Drive to a T3400, 4GB's Ram, and my Insp1545's 250gb HDD], this machine has a GMA X3100 2a02 rev C, the AppleIntelGMAX3100.kext and FB kext all load, but I am not able to get QE/CI to work no matter what I try. I have SL[10.6.7] on the machine's original drive with working QE/CI, so I've tried it's kexts, and kexts.com's 10.6.2 64-bit drivers [using them right now], no ripple effect on dashboard when I unpin it as a workspace. logging in is choppy. No transparency on finder's menu bar. Entering and exiting full-screen apps is choppy, but sliding back and forth, and Launch pad as well, are all smooth transitions.

Forgot to mention that the stock kexts complain about missing info.plist and do not load at all for me, goes straight into no kext vesa only mode.

I activated OpenGL with an EFI string. I've tried Graphics Enabler set to both Y & N. arch=i386 always..as 64-bit won't ever boot. I forget where it gets stuck off hand atm.

I D/L'd and installed the installer from https://sites.google.com/site/nozyczek/home...l-inspiron-1525 for post-install use.

Used one of the sticky usb/chameleon tutorials on the 10.7 install forum to build the usb installer, got through that no prob after replacing the few acpi kexts a lot of Dell Users have too from their SL installs.

Installer DMG is good, as I first started out with a bad one that after installing would leave me stuck with a useless install that would get stuck at first time run wizard where you would pick country and keyboard language, then would just stay stuck there never moving onto networking but got around that with a little green demon's assistance. So that shouldn't be the issue.

Any idea's or concepts or theories at all would be wicked awesome, and appreciated. Any further info needed, just let me know! :)

Hi d23,

I have the very same problem as you are.

My CPU is the same with GMA X3100 (2a02) - Rev 03.

Yes I can still hear sound (iTunes playing) when the graphic is freeze (mouse cursor still function).

SSH to the machine still works perfectly...

And most of it not error log that related to this graphic stuff...

It's usually it's happen when I'm using application or the Mac OS X function that have the need of using the

graphic function. Such as Photoshop, Playing Games, and some random events with the OS it self.

Right now on Lion, I was trying to make it more stable by avoiding any extensive use of graph function,

like using tools to turn off any animation (TinkerTool app / Cocktail app will do), turning off the window shadow (ShadowKiller app - I have this run on as Login item).

Oh ya the mouse lag problem solve by the solution given in this thread post.

I have this random graphic related freeze since Leopard (10.5.*), then Snow Leopard (10.6.*) (more stable though, less often to freeze) and now with Lion (10.7.0 - the update for 10.7.1 didn't issue any graphic function update)...

This is irritating bug with the graphics ;)

So, do you (or anyone) happen to know a solution of this (random freeze) until now?

I just tested my method by playing uberstrike hd.

I installed lion retail. Updated to 10.7.2. In #####, chose 32 bit graphicsenabler=no for boot settings. It worked for me, so i may work for you guys too!
