Here's the description taken from the Green Demon:

This is the first release for the disc and consider it a beta as we wanted to get some feedback from the community. This is currently the easiest option to install Mac OS X Leopard on the MSI Wind notebook. Please take into consideration the installer was made with the MSI Wind notebook in mind and we're hoping that the other clone revisions of this notebook (Advent, Luvbook, Akoya) will work as well, even though some of the hardware is slightly different.

Before I list off some of the features, I'd like everyone to know that NOONE DRAWS A PAYCHECK FROM THESE EFFORTS. We created this disc to help the community and give people more options on their brand new MSI Wind notebook. If you really like the way this OS feels to you please consider purchasing OS X Leopard from http://www.apple.com.

Before someone starts complaining, be sure to read the OSx86 forums at http://www.insanelymac.com for some preliminary information about OSx86 and how it works before you start making a fool of yourself.

--------------

--Features--

-Single disc installation

-Native Graphics on boot of OS

-Keyboard and Trackpad Working

-Native Camera support for use with applications such as iChat, Photoboot & Skype

-Internal Speakers with Mute, Volume UP/DOWN functionality

-Bluetooth Works natively

-Clamshell Sleep

-System Sleep (Still to be determined)

So we understand what the features are of this thing. Now lets get down to business on what doesn't work. Because we all know that's what people love to complain about...

--Features not yet implemented--

-About this Mac Screen - This is just cosmetic as it does not affect the functionality of the notebook

-Line in/out Mic - This is the biggest complaint from everyone. I am trying my hardest to source down the one man who can actually get this function to work. Until then, be glad you HAVE OS X Leopard running on your MSI Wind.

-Trackpad Scrolling - This could potentially be solved, but I have not delved deep enough into the process.

-Installer can potentially not show progress bar - As you can see in Onetrack's installation video some people have been noticing that the progress bar for the installation is not showing. This doesn't mean it's not installing as it's purely cosmetic.

INSTALLATION OF THE CUSTOM INSTALLER DISC:

INSTALLATION OF RAM, HDD AND WIFI CARD

Please watch those videos before attempting the installation so you throughly understand how to do this.

For US comparison ill just show newegg. I don't like these processors, but understand the whole small portable issue.

Hard to find, the MSI Wind in the US but has a internal hard drive: ~$500 @newegg

The Acer Aspire has the same processor & integrated graphics but less memory and only a solid state 8gig hd, but is only $380 with free shipping and no tax @newegg

For $500 dollars you can get a fully functional laptop, dual core cpu (1.73GHz), 120gb hdd, 1280x800 display, etc. example @newegg

I don't see what's so great about a machine that is underpowered and overpriced just because it is small.

I think it´s better to have a 132 boot MSI Wind iso or stick image than to download a whole DVD for hours and hours. I liked all the Kalayway disks but in our days there is no need for patched dvds.

feel free to make a Guide :)

Don't get me wrong I love the Boot-132 method myself but I've had to remove a few kexts here and there

(UUID errors, SMBIOS, Time Machine) after the inital install to keep my desktop running tip-top....

One thing I've wondered... Later on when the newer Intel atoms are release How hard would it be to replace one in an MSI wind or Advent..........

Hi this release has nothing to do with Kalyway - it was originally made specifically for the msi wind, but also works on the medion akoya and advent 4211.. This disk was created by Stellarolla and myself plus several testers. I would ask that the poster of that link on the demon kindly change the name of it and re-upload, as it is not Kaly's work.

Other than the disk being renamed, it does appear to be the original release and not a fake. more information on it here:

http://forums.msiwind.net/mac-f32/first-po...-wind-t857.html

Of course the poster on demon copied Stellas post verbatim.

Oh well, cant fault someone for helping out.

Hey everyone,

Stell here. Yea, I dunno who uploaded the disc to Demon with Kaly's name on it, but that {censored} ain't cool. I hope whoever uploaded it will PLEASE RENAME THE TORRENT to what it was called on TPB. This kind of stuff can easily confuse people and no one likes their brand on something that isn't theirs.

Besides this disc was only meant as a test and not a truly thought out release. Kaly's work is wayyyyy cleaner, so I understand his concern.

dhomi,

If you don't mind, could you rename this thread and edit your first post too so there is less confusion.

@ Stell and Kaly

Sorry guys, big confusion over this. I edited the topic, hopefully it is clearer now. It seems to be off the Green Demon anyway ( I have nothing to do with it!). It is odd the way somebody used Kalyway's name in this way.
