10.7.3 is safe to update. However, if you have problems with wifi, bluetooth or firewire (all are somehow connected), please, for now, use IO80211Family.kext of 10.7.2. It fixes all the problem. Secondly, in your org.chameleon.Boot.plist, make sure you the following line, which fixes the disappearance of spinning wheel on boot. <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>npci=0x2000</string> You could download graphic power management for 10.7.3 from the first post. @lothar, installation of Lion is very well documented on the internet and I did not want to go through the same process. Basically, use this guide and restore Lion to a usb drive. Once you've finished do not use the kexts or plist files in that post, instead use the ones in the first post. That's it.

I've had the same problem. I had to use IO80211Family.kext of 10.7.2. Strange thing is that when I get that message, it breaks bluetooth, firewire and obviously wifi. On console, it also says something about PCI Open Failed. The above-mentioned workaround fixes all of them. I'll try again when I re-download Lion from the App Store.

You may have heard the project called eGPU which allows you to use a discrete GPU by using Express Card slot on your notebook. The idea is similar to Vidock. I have seen a couple of people using this setup on their notebook and it works on OS X too. As far as I could tell, they use the existing kexts in OS X. Kizwan uses one such a solution. BTW to me, bcc9 seems to me that he might have something to say about this issue. Edit: Look. Also, you may have noticed that people using eGPU are using an external display to get it working.

Hi DoiX, I don't have this laptop or a similar problem that you've been trying to solve but your efforts grabbed my attention and I wanted to acknowledge your work just by saying "well done". I am not a programmer but I do however have a suggestion. If it comes to a point where it becomes clearer that the issue is not related to driver or frame buffer, would it be possible to think about a software solution that will force OS X to use discrete GPU. You may have heard gfxCardStatus, which is a small utility to view which GPU is in use and switch between them on demand. I know that many people use it to disable on-board GPU on MBP. It is an open source application so it may help you solve the problem. May be disabling on-board GPU without breaking OS X could be possible in this way. Good luck,

Does this effect the performance or the functionality of the battery? I am planning to buy a 12 cell battery. The original one died for a while back and I got a new one from the Ebay, which is working well so far.

To fix the problem in the DSDT injector, simply do the following. Replace: "device_type", Buffer (0x0D) { "NVDA,Geforce" } with: "device_type", Buffer (0x0C) { "NVDA,Parent" } Credit goes to zoliky. I was quite surprised to see how much I got used to the brightness. Without it, I couldn't use OS X BTW, do not forget to use a boot loader with FaceTime fix, which also fixes iCloud related issues.

Hi, Right now, I am away from my computer so I haven't updated to 10.7.2 yet. I did take a look at your DSDT file and noticed that it is not an up to date version of the DSDT that I'd shared. Secondly, the easiest way to see if there is an overall problem with the DSDT or just with the GPU part is to remove Method (_DSM, 4, NotSerialized) from Device (VGA) and then either boot with -x or use GraphicEnabler=Yes. Also, you can remove the GPU injector from my DSDT and try that file as well. Let us know the result.

I had that warning for a couple of weeks and then it went away. It is possible that in your case, your battery is actually dying. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the driver. Or may be just use the older version on Snow Leopard to see if it fixes the issue. // Yes, I updated the topic. I'll share one more fix which is the graphic power management. Without it, GPU performance is horrible. Once 10.7.2 has come out, I'll update it again. I bought Samsung YA-SBR510B, which is just joy to use. It has both bluetooth and usb input, which means that it goes on working even after sleep. //

If you use the files I've shared, you will have a wonderfully working HDX. You almost have the same configuration as me. Please post your problems/solutions to that topic.

There is one more fix that I want to share, which is to get graphic power management working. Without it, as you may have noticed, the graphic performance is really bad on Lion. Stay tuned.
