Mac OS 7 on your Snow Leopard machine?

If, like me, you are a bit of an old school Mac head, or possibly you have an actual genuine need to launch your old Mac OS "Classic" applications, check out the oddly named "SheepShaver".

Far from doing what it says on the tin, SheepShaver is a PowerPC emulator that lets you run Mac OS 7, 8 or 9 on your Snow Leopard machine. It's also available for Linux and Windows users too.

Check out SheepShaver at E-Maculation for more info, and also stop by at TidBITS for an overview on how to get up and running.

I've got OS 9 running on my Snow Leopard but somehow, my applications folder is missing :/ Now I can't do much.. Anyway, nice app.

Unless I am mistaken, it should be located on your G3 restore CD?

Alternatively you could search for a G3 ROM UPDATE UTILITY

Here is a link to the APPLE website, (which i think is OK?)

Glad you liked it. :P

This really took me back, I did that one in a couple of minutes but I used to sit at my friends B/W mac for hours making "grafitti", stoned out of my mind.

Lol.. I used to only have a black and white display connected to the first Mac I used at work (Quadra 700), the updated me to a colour one after a while though :P

As for doodling, stoned... that was the best way to let the creative juices flow... :D

Work Great! at this version of Sheepshaver. Great job! My old friends is BACK!

But file sharing slow. Just like use back my old mac PowerMac 7100. ;)

Access CD DVD also slow. But you can open back your OSX hardisk directory by setup your UNIX Root /User/username/ access speed fast.
