Thanks to Bartboy919 for spotting that Apple has now released version 1.1.2 of the Boot Camp Beta.

The update weighs in at 143 MB, and can be found here.

This new version reportedly includes support for the new Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro, as well as adding touchpad scrolling, right-click support, and support for the Apple USB modem.

So there is no need for someone with an imac to get this?

I guess it would be the best version to have but it's probably not worth the trouble for someone like you to update to something that doesn't directly affect you.

Personally, I would like decent support for the Bluetooth keyboard. It works (sort of), but the layout is all wrong and pairing after switching from OS X to Windows (and back again) is always a pain.

Plus my OS X installation is on a RAID 1 set, and this doesn't show up in the Windows version of Startup Disk. Hopefully they'll get round to fixing that.

Other than that, it's nice to have trackpad support on the laptop.

Proper trackpad support sounds killer. Now if only I hadnt returned my macbook (again)... :)

I don't know that I would recommend installing this update if you have a MacBook Pro. I installed it yesterday, and have tried every possible combination I can think of to make the right-click function work, all to no avail. RT-CMD no longer works, neither does CTR, ALT, FN, Shift, nothing. As for the scrolling, it's better than nothing, but I've had more luck with it scrolling down than scrolling up, which seems pretty crazy to me.

That's my experience so far.

This is what I'm using now:

Seems to work fairly well (using ctrl-click), but I'm still pretty annoyed that Apple took two steps backwards on this particular driver "fix."

a) Then why'd you buy it?

B) It's a software problem, anyway.

So... I'm guessing two-finger still doesn't work? I'm now afraid to upgrade.

I installed this last night on my MacBook Pro 1.83Ghz, and it works flawlessly. two finger scrolling and two-finger clicking working 100%.

Also, for those folks who hate burning a new drivers CD each time, just launch the Bootcamp Assistant, and in the 'Utility' menu you'll find an option to dump the drivers package (as an .exe file) to a folder. If you already have a bootcamp partition and its FAT32, you could use this to dump it straight to your WinXP desktop (in Documents and Settings\\Desktop) ready to run when you next boot into windoze.
