After months of rumors pooling up under rumor mill, Apple finally shed some light on the speculation. Maybe. Accidentally. Today, Apple's UK site posted pre-release information on an upcoming Mac Pro. The 8 Core monster had just a simple caption under it's name in the store.

Mac Pro

Now quad-core or 8-core processing power.

Apple has since found the error on their site and fixed it. Also, there is no word yet on pricing for the Mac Pros.

Anyone else ready to see Leopard flying on one of these?

The 45nm chips? I'm guessing you're referring to the 80 core CPU's debuting I think next year. You think the 8 core palette is cluttered!?

I'd like to see AMD beat that one before it's out. I have to say, AMD's CD killer is a nice thought, but take into account the timescale. The C2D has been around 6 months already and is the best chip series on the market. I think it's fair to say the tables have turned since the old days. Intel are back to being the cutting edge.

That, plus the only two AMD chips I ever had blew on first boot after a perfect install. Never had a problem with any intel chip since the Pentium 90.
