dsc106
I have three partitions on my MBR drive: 1.) Boot partition, HFS+ 2.) Storage partition, HFS+ 3.) FAT32 partition, FAT File system I want to get rid of my FAT32 partition, or resize it to be much smaller. And I want to ADD that space to my HFS+ storage partition. Is it possible to delete the FAT32 partition (its ok if I lose data here) and EXTEND my HFS+ partition (the storage one), *without* losing data on the storage one? Again, its ok if I lose data on the fat32 one. If so, how do I do this? (and, of course, if there is a way without losing any data - how?) kennyp
Download GParted, follow instructions, works great Kenny Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/94449-deleting-a-partition-and-adding-the-space-to-another-one/#findComment-673375 Share on other sites
dsc106
thanks, but GParted does not support growing or creating HFS+ size partitions so I don't think that will help: http://gparted.sourceforge.net/features.php Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/94449-deleting-a-partition-and-adding-the-space-to-another-one/#findComment-673600 Share on other sites
NeSuKuN
have you searched if it's possible to convert a mbr drive to a hybrid one? GPT drives can. maybe even gparted can do that, once it's in hybrid format, you can use apple's disk utility and perform a gptsync Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/94449-deleting-a-partition-and-adding-the-space-to-another-one/#findComment-673609 Share on other sites
dsc106
I don't want to do that (convert to GUID) to my boot drive on a hacked system - yikes! I've had a lot of problems with booting GUID (its an AMD hack).
