-illusionz-
Basically, I downloaded a Leopard AMD 10.5.1 version. I partitioned off a 10gb chunk of unallocated space. No matter what I try, when I get the install screen up, it doesn't have that partition as a choice to install Leopard in. Can anyone provide some support? awesomo
yes if u have partitioned before the install verify the whole disk and if that does not work unpartition and partition during install
-illusionz-
That's the point, when I use the disk utility, only the DVD Drive shows up, and nothing else. It's not even selectable to reformat.

-illusionz-
What I did was I partitioned off like a 10gb chunk of my hard drive space, making it unallocated. When I go into the installation, no Hard Disk drives show up for available use. Did I do something wrong, or is my hardware just not supported? The Baron
Use the Ultimate Boot CD, boot up and format your partition (10gb) as fat-32. Should show up then, and you can use Disk Utility to format hfs+.
-illusionz-
I tried formatting it as FAT32, still doesn't show up.
-illusionz-
I tried using GParted, still didn't work. Does it matter if the unallocated space is in the middle of two partitions?

-illusionz-
Well, I don't get it. Maybe my hardware just isn't supported.
-illusionz-
Hm. I tried using Tiger, hoping that it would detect that drive. I accidentally left my iPod plugged in too. The disk utility saw my dvd drive and my usb iPod, but not my hard drive partitions for some reason. I have a usb hard Drive... Too bad there wasn't a way to install it on there and boot from that since my bios doesn't let me boot from usb
ricki
use this "create partition primary id=af" without "" then it will mount
-illusionz-
Am I supposed to put that in terminal? Thats not a terminal command.
sup3rst4r
no thats a cmd prompt command to set the partition as apple format, but thats not the problem anyway and yes i have already done it
-illusionz-
Hm. I guess it just doesn't support my hard drive. Pisses me off, I really wanted to do it.

xeongx
Everyone who doesn't see there hard drive on disk utility, it means that your hard drive isn't supported, and the only way to install Mac OSX is to get an extra internal or external IDE hard drive. my sata hard drive doesn't get detected too!
