Not sure why callisto isn't working for you...did you use the 1150 specific modifed kexts??? It worked for me and the sound is working too.....and for the dual boot...I was finally able to get the Dual boot working(although could login to Leo coz of other issues... Not sure why but I had to make leo partition active in windows expilicitly thru partition magic to get it working. I had formatted it initially as Fat32 and primary and made it active using terminal commands in leo but that didn't work...but when i made it active thru partition magic and added an entry in EasyBCD...it worked like a charm...now just need to figure out why it is stopping at waiting for root device for my internal HDD. It boots of perfectly from my external USB HDD...

Haye buddy,I wanna know from where you got VGA and Audio driver. Give a link if possible. And please tell me how you dual booted. Also I installed Leo4all on my inspiron 1501, but it takes almost half an hour to boot in with/without DVD of Leo4all.Please help me to fix that thing too.

Thank you!

Mohsin :)

anyone come across the issuse of getting thru the install until you hit calculating time and it jsut sits there? any suggestions?

edit:

i have a suggestion...wait longer....i foudn that the leo distro omce at installer would take liek 10-15 mins of your dvd drive going crazy then it woudl stop and a min or so later you would get hard drive activity. then that woudl stop and it would go back to the dvdrom drive....rinse and repeate.

i end up reinstallin vista becuase it tells me missing OS.

ive tried both leo4all 10.5.2 and zeph 10.5.2 , im currently trying to d/l iatkos and im gunna trying paching that. how long is an average install for this, am i just not waiting long enough?

ive tried every guide on the internet to make active....diskpart in vista...flaging disk0s2 via darwin -s comment....nothing seems to work. all i get is a big hsf + partition error.is there another way to set it as active? i feel im close to bagging this cat. ;-)

one last thing...in zeph you have an option for boot loader... for a dual boot sys like i got, vista on disk0s1, what would u suggest i choose as my boot loader?( mbr something or the other one), (that might have somthing to do with it)

Alrready ma buddy. I've got ur problem, and I hope that my small guide will assist ya in Dualbooting freakin Vista with OS X. Go to Acronis.com, and download Disk Director. Try to look for Keygen or Paatch as well, cuz u will need full version of tht software. So now. After downloading and INSTALLING cOMLETELY, u gota go to start menu and look their for the startup OS chooser or something like that. Atually that is Boot manager. Install that, and you're done my friend. On startup you will see thewindow thingi. Just chose unknown Operating system from there and you will startbooting in OS X. DO NOT INSTALL THT SOFT ON MAC, IT IS 4 VISTA MY FRIEND! OK???

Have a good day.. Oh no waittt..

OS X 4 life baby!!

My Problem: Please I think that you have Audio and VGA driver for your Inspiron. PLease I need them, so give those two drivers's download links or something. I Really need them. PLEASEEE HELP ME!

THNX in advance my friend!!!

rob,I faced the same issues with Zeph....but my install went easier with the new Kalyway 10.5.2 or you can use leo4all V2 or V3...these are much easier to install in 1501....try leo4all first....Let me know if you face issues in them....i hope you don't... ;)

P.S: you would find the ISO in usual places...

i have already tried the Acronis disk director, but thank you buddy

while im waiting for for leo4all v3 to finish downloading im going totry zeph again... this time i completly wiped everything off the hard drive and partioned thru disk utility...i read in a guide somwhere about while partitioning "select Master Boot record. If you skip this, you wont be able to boot to Leopard after installation." so im giving that a try...then ill try to get vista on there afterwords. i dont know if thats a good idea or now but i guess at this point its worth a shot.as for kalyway, i had 10.4.10 install beatifuly, but after boot would get the old circle with the line thru it at the grey apple....i think it was "waiting on root device" error.leo4all v2 was really wierd for me...somtimes it wouldnt boot up to installer, other times it would. I found that if i made the partition (that leo was going to be placed on) fat32 and had an external harddrive hooked up, it would boot, If not, that darwin bootloader wanted nothig not do with me, but for the record i got it to install and still got those hfs+ errors.

are there know issues with partitioning a sata harddrives for dual boot?

I think Once i finaly get this on im writing a guide hahaha

and it will be the most elaborately detailed install guide on the net.

the only good thing is i have nothing of importance of my new laptop

so ill keep going until get it. :P

another question....post patching is not required on zeph 10.5.2, leo4allv2 or kalyway 10.5.2 , right?

I am surprised leo4All is giving you problems :( .....as for the long wait time/using -s....try using -f.....at boot time...or you can add it in the boot.plist kernel flag....-V and -legacy are already there....I ran into waiting for boot device but using -f it boots up within a 1 min max....yes you need to patch for Audio and Video kexts....use callisto and HDA patched 1.2 with STAC9200 dump...there are many 9200 dumps available but mine works best with STAC9200.c...not sure why....all the other ones give crappy audio after a few reboots....my system is same as yours....except 160gig hd....i upgraded to install leo...and dual booting with Vista....you won't get QE/CI for ATI 1150 but ...I don't use leo for video..so works for me... :D

Ok....Attached are the Callisto kexts for 1150....copy them in your leo desktop...use the installation guide attached for applying them..start from step 10 onwards till 16. you don't need anything else...for Audio..attached is the HDA patcher 1.20..get the STAC9200 dump from http://psykopat.free.fr/apple/AppleHDA/ drag and drop it in the HDA patcher ICON..enter password and it will do the rest...DO NOT open the patcher and try to D&D.Let me know how it works out..remember google is your friend.... ;):P

ok im finally starting to run pretty stable, what is the best kernel for our 1501's running leopard?

is the stac9200.txt the best to patch our audio with...i have the laggy audio that someone else described too, and im wondering if i put a better kernel in if that will fix my one problem.

my other problem is bootup....still have to go thru -s mount the root and exit into boot...dose everyone here have to do that or is there away to eliminate certain files so that normal boot up can be achieved?
