addy33
I don't really need a skulltrail dual-socket one just one that'll fit Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/89900-what-sort-of-motherboards-do-the-intel-macpros-use/ Share on other sites
nagal
Your post is very confusing. Besides various revisions (1,1 2,1 and now 3,1), there is only a Mac Pro logic board, there are not different types and they are all dual socket. vbetts
Is it Foxconn that makes the Macpro logic boards? Â But I think he means what socket and chipset... Â Dual lga 775, which whatever sockets the latest quad core Xeons use, that's involved with the chipset. Harloe
I thought you needed 771 Sockets for the Mac Pro boards and processors? vbetts
I could be wrong, 771 seems more realistic than 2 LGA775s. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/89900-what-sort-of-motherboards-do-the-intel-macpros-use/#findComment-644854 Share on other sites

aqua-mac
If it is only the mainboard that has gone, get a new board. It would be a shame to ditch all that other hardware. The boards, while not cheap are reasonably priced. You can get them from Apple Palace, We love Macs and Mac pro. Watch Mac pro though, have a word with Nagal on this forum who has bought a couple and will have good advice on a place to purchase. dj_stick
the new mac pros (3,1) use a logic board based on the intel i5400 chipset (same as in the skulltrail) if that's any help Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/89900-what-sort-of-motherboards-do-the-intel-macpros-use/#findComment-649841 Share on other sites
