I wouldn't be able to have to have an Air. I only use laptops and as just about everyone has said, this is a complimentary system to another compy. Why have two laptops? That's just redundant and not bright.

It's my main machine, as my PB was before it. Just because it isn't as powerful as a MacBook, doesn't mean it isn't powerful... I do have a Mac mini, and technically an iMac, although the iMac isn't mine, but the mini is a media center computer and now that I can encode video and the likes with the Air, I really don't need either. I'll only sometimes (very rarely) need the mini as a dvd drive.

I get the same battery with the brightness all the way up on my MacBook, though.

Right now, battery indicator is reporting 4 hours 22 minutes with brightness on the bar twice to the right of the middle... lol did that make sense? it's at 88%. In short, the screen is pretty bright right now.. i'm not sacrificing brightness or anything!

And Max, add me to the repertoire of quotes over there:

The MacBook Air has changed the way I approach portable computers in general. It's unbelievable in mostly every sense: a beautiful replacement for my aging Powerbook 12", and it fits in places that the MacBook regular simply wouldn't. For example, in my favorite all-purpose bag the MacBook doesn't fit, but the slimness of the Air puts it right there with my books to the point where you really can't tell that there's a laptop in there! People around me have called it thinner than their notebooks, paper notebooks! But the device as a whole is slick, and works great. Speedy, quiet and cool, with a gorgeous screen and keyboard and trackpad, it seems like a no brainer that I spent hundreds of extra dollars on this machine. And for the record, I wouldn't switch to any other laptop on the market, even if this costed several hundred more than I have paid. No regrets. And knowing what I know now, I would never even have considered the MacBook.

That's a very good point Urbz

Well said! I'm really glad that you're so happy with your new MB Air :) When (and if) they add Firewire to it then I'll be buying one too. It's a great addition to the MacBook line-up. I know people that regularly use desktops that never wanted to get a laptop until the MB Air came out. It's a great option to consider for many people.

Congratulations on your purchase and enjoy your new MB Air in good health :)
