I really think you two should hop in MSN, or AIM, or Gtalk, or IRC, or SOMETHING. I dunno, you are doing excellent work, and keep it up, but the forum just seems to be a slow way to talk.

Keep us updated! What are you working on now? How close is it to being done? What's happening?

Posts like this are not needed they are just a waste of space and do nothing to help the building of the driver. I know many people really want to see a fix for there HackBooks but please if you feel the need to say "whats happening" "Is it done yet?" DON'T!! Keep it to yourself and check back later to see if any progress has been made.

Thank you :)

And equally useless are posts such as these. I do anticipate that the same claim could be made for my own post, but this back-and-forth stuff has gone on for too long. For those of you that consider yourselves acquainted enough with the forums to tell other users that their posts are unnecessary, simply do as javaloui himself does and ignore them. You are doubling the clutter in this thread.

Iwidarwin for 10.5 isn't working for me. I dunno why. I have Kalyway 10.5.1.

also

When I run network selector i get the message "Could not get ID from kernel control. 2 " . someone please help. I have a Dell 9300 with intel Pro 2915 a/b/g

iwi2200 mac os x 10.4/10.5

added source code based on TWN code for memory operations

this can make the driver faster - maybe the old tx problem is gone :)

can someone grab the sources and build the iwi2200.dmg?

thanks

Hi Jalavoui,

Wondering if you could let me know possible causes of kernel panic when calling the iwl_read32 function in OSX 10.5

I am trying to compile the iwl4965 driver for 10.5 using the latest svn trunk source (renamed to old) for 10.4

Started debugging the kernel driver and found it is KP in the driver-start ->pci_probe when making the iwl_read32 call.

Can confirm that the priv pointer has a valid memory address allocated prior to this call.

Any quick info is appreciated.

Thanks. :)

build 2200-kext and 2200-10.5 on my iMac Intel under 10.5.2 on Release mode (not Debug).

got some errors on the 10.4 version but compiled.

One cp error (file build/Debug/iwi2200.kext not found) on 2200-10.5 scripts.

thanks for work, XL

Sorry, j've a intel pro wireless 4965 and j have installed leopard.

Leopard is 10.5.1. and the driver 4965 is only for 10.4

J have installed a 4965 for 10.4 on 10.5.1 and my computer in stop for ever.

This problem is for the incompatible with 4965 for 10.4

For this j wont the version for 10.5.1

Thenk's......................

Sorry for my english ;)

I can confirm this...

Installed 10.4 on 10.5.2 and i get kernel panics.

Removed the iwi4965.kext and Leopard boots again.

it's better to build this on a pc

the iwi2200 for mac os x 10.4 need to be build in 10.4

the iwi2200 for mac os x 10.5 need to be build in 10.5

fisrt you need to delete iwi2200.dmg from the project folder

if the build is ok you'll get a new iwi2200.dmg - might need to repeat the build until so (sometimes the script fails)

then post the new iwi2200.dmg here for testing

TWN,

With the new PCI drivers for 10.5.2 my ethernet devices are finally recognised correctly and my Boadcom ethernet device as well as my Intel wireless chip are now 'working' so I can now help test out the driver code. No more "Map is Zero" or kernel panic errors. ;)

I tested the Kext twice and it seems it loaded correctly the second time.

Hello !

I commited a version with the sta code , but I have a KP.I don't know wherre because my crossover Trial is expirated .

I'm searching a Mach-O decompiler and I will debug it tomorow.

Have a nice day !

[edit]It seems we don't have a KP , but the driver isn't working yet. Jalavoui , have you got an idea of the problem ?

Hi Guys,

Im having a slight problem I hope someone can help me out with. Ive installed JaS 10.4.8 on my Dell Inspiron 2200 and need to install my Intel PRO/Wireless 2200 drivers so I can use the net. I've been to the iwidarwin google code website and downloaded the appropriate files and followed the instructions. My problem lies in the 'network selector'. It says it is contained in the *.dmg file that you download off the mainpage, (along with a *.pkg file) for which you are meant to use after you've installed the *.pkg

Whenever I open the downloaded *.dmg file, there is no 'network selector' or anything else apart from a single *.pkg file.

Im a bit of a noob with macs so I could be missing something really basic here but I'm really not sure and cant find any help for this specific issue. Can someone please shed some light? Is it an application already built in to OS X or something (the F.A.Q says its contained in the *.dmg file and the instructions say to use the 'appriopriate one', so I assumed not)

NB - I have the *.pkg file as per the instructions, followed all steps, it logs out and logs back in, nothing changes if i reboot or not. I need the 'network selector' it seems.

NBB - I am prepared to ruin my install to get the net working as it will be pointless for me without internet =)

Many thanks!

I was curious about this so I downloaded this and installed it. I get the message "You need to restart your computer. Hold down the Power button..." and after I do that, it still brings that message back up. Does anyone know how I can bypass this?
