People are going away from this card in flocks, even the developers are leaving.

What about the people who it is not an option for to change there wireless card. Cant we just this thing sorted, get the dev web wide credit and have everybody happy/

yes but i wait since 7 months ... so i think the best solution are to go aways ...

let us study some grammar:

yes but i wait since 7 months

I have been waiting for 7 months: SIMPLE PERFECT

so i think the best solution is to go away

:D

BUT I WILL STILL WAIT

because I love this project,

guys, you are doing a great job,

thanks a lot

Thats a bit harsh, lets see you try and talk turkish or something. Then see how hard it is to keep perfect grammar.

Saying they are doing a great job when the last oh, 5 pages have been complaints and questions of when this is going to be completed.

Posts like mine just fade into the pst as others post the sae thing.

When is the project going to get moving? God knows there s more than a few people this would benefit.

Think Mark. {censored}

I'm coming here from time to time to see if there are any progresses, it reminds me to dust my intel card that rests in the closet.

Honestly, this project is stuck and going nowhere, there is no reason to complain because it's developed by volunteers and it will be at a dead end till some motivated experts will appear, and this can't be scheduled.

At this point, a guide on how to replace your wireless card with something compatible out of the box would be more useful.

I bought a Dell 1490 on ebay for 15 euro and I'm living happily.

If you want working WiFi but don't want to swap your internal wireless card the D-Link DWA-140 USB adapter works perfect, after 10+ months of having a none working 3945ABG I just picked one of these up from eBay for $25 - working perfect!

I know everybody has been suggesting getting USB wireless adapters, I always had problems with them bending and eventually breaking. But, I had one of these adapters lying around and they work wonders! I suggest investing an extra 5 dollars in one of these to protect your investment (USB wireless adapter). http://www.vpi.us/usb-gender-flex.html (These are just an example, any brand will do).

i use the drivers at ralink page.but there are problems if you plug the stick before system start.just wait and then plug the usb stick.the ralink icon will pop up.then add the connection you use to profiles.you have to unplug it before mac os x starts.

Since when did this board become a "Will ______ adapter work?" ?

This board was created specifically for the development of the Intel wifi drivers, and we shouldn't be cluttering it up with these questions.

I still think this board should be closed until either Jav starts development again, or a serious developer contacts the forum and gets the topic open again.

Nothing constructive has happened in a while, and it should be closed

I think it gives us a false sense of progress.

Hi everyone,

I have the 3945abg, also I am a skilled developer. Haven't read all thread (+140 pages). But I'll try to finish the driver after holidays, if it doesn't take me too much time (because I'm working full time as software engineer and studing). But challeges as this one to code at low level always have a magic to attract my attention.

Well, have a mery xmas!!

I agree penginman13 I check this board every couple of days and have read through most of the pages on this topic, getting tired of re-reading when will it be done will it work I really need it to work. I agree should have this thread locked until the development issues have been resolved.

Everyone have a great Christmas and a safe and joyous New Year.

Hi everybody,

I have a problem using my wifi card with MACOSX 10.4.9, I installed the driver from the web site http://code.google.com/p/iwidarwin/

but after the rebooting, the system recognized a new network card. This seems fine, but when i try to use networkselector, it doesn't show any network available.

ifconfig give me this result:

auroras-computer:~ aurora$ ifconfig

Can u help me, please? Maybe the problem is that, the new card is recognized like "en3"?

Thanks

That would be awesome! I am sure EVERYBODY would be thankful! Have a merry christmas!

I am wondering if there is any documentation I can look at to get me started in assisting with this? I have done a lot of programming in Windows and a little in linux, but I am wanting to learn VERY much on how to work with OS X in this regard. So, I am an OS X noob, but I am not afraid to get in and get my hands dirty... Much the same as working on new car....You don't know what is really in it until you take her apart.

There is documentation at http://developer.apple.com , you have to create an account to use the developer site, but its free and if you have an iTunes account, you can use that to login.

Can anyone give me any specific starting points when it comes to working with drivers for OS X, porting, tools I will need (I have Xcode, but I heard of IOkit, what is that?), tools you guys use, etc?

kobudodave: are you a developer?

Not really, but I am looking to be... I love the challenge, and it is something that I have always wanted to do. I am, however, a programmer. I do some database stuff, web design (php, asp.net, javascript, css, etc) and some c++, and I know a few programming languages besides. I know my way around a compiler.
