Works, do not use terminal to do copy. Do copy paste of kext on finder. earljieret, Thanks for replying for me - my day job has me slammed. The good news is that I just bought a new "real" MacBook Pro 17" High-res GW screen with 4gb Ram and 7200RPM 200GB HD that will be here Wednesday (according to FedEx)! I should have a ton of info to post within a week of getting my new machine. Thanks again for posting my quote and additional info earljieret - it appears many people forget to apply permissions and try to just use "Finder" to install files. As one other suggested; one may wish to use "Kext Helper" to install .kext's of they are unfamiliar with terminal. By the way - I also have a new version I will be posting but the original does indeed work on 10.5.2 for me as well. Searay_X
New news! It appears that not only I have been working on this - the guy from mac.nub has some excellent AppleSMBIOS.kext's that are flawless on 10.5.2 and can be found at the bottom of his page found here; http://my.macdotnub.info/content/view/19/26/ Sources are included - Many thanks to macdotnub for these excellent .kext's! Read the instructions and use his recomendations. Anyone having any issues (or not) should check them out! Most likely this will conclude this topic IMO since he has corrected the issues that I was attempting to address (apparently he has more time on his hands - LOL) Thanks to everyone and good luck - I will continue my work on other areas as time permits. Oh - I almost forgot; IMO, the P5WDH Deluxe is by far one of the best Hack Mac's I have built/used to date; everything works flawlessly - I am now overclocked to 3.5Ghz (from 2.4) on a core 2 duo with 4Gb ram at 800Mhz and running stable! If anyone wants to know the bios settings i will post them here. Also, attached is a fix for the "orange" drive icons if your using AHCI. Also please see the Kext Helper app attacched to help "noobs" install .kext's properly without terminal - simply unzip, run the app, drag the .kext into the window, enter your password and your good to go; no need to set permissions manually. ~pcwiz
macdotnub's SMBIOS took away the hackint0sh boot ROM for me. Beware though, make sure to clear out all kext caches after installing or it won't show up properly Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/84031-remove-the-hackint0sh-boot-rom-info-kalyway-1051-dvd/page/4/#findComment-684666 Share on other sites
Jedric
macdotnub's SMBIOS took away the hackint0sh boot ROM for me. Beware though, make sure to clear out all kext caches after installing or it won't show up properly Hi Folks, Do we have any updates? I tried like 10 different SMBIOS kext including macdotnub's and they are all showing Hackintosh in Geekbench. The rev6 in macdotnub is only for iMac. I tried that one too but its hardcoded as iMac, so its showing iMac in System Profiler and Geekbench. I'm running 10.5.2 Kalyway.
