Sadly, I don't remember exactly where it was...however, if you drop into a terminal and do a find . name Comic\* from the root directory of the mounted DMG you should be able to find it. /blkblt Oh, and plus it's an unregistered copy, so it expires in 30 days... wesley Posted February 6, 2006 Share Posted February 6, 2006 Oh, hey, this is interesting. So there's CPU_ComicLife.pkg in it. I dragged it out of the folder and copied it to the HDD. Then I ran the installer, which went quite quick. Comic Life icon appeared in Applications folder. It's UniBin, and version 1.2.3, which is slightly ahead of the currently available version of 1.2.2. Also, when I tried to register it, it showed up as pre-registered 'Apple Bundle' and I didn't need to register it at all. It won't expire. Unfortunately, it's not recognizing my iPhoto folder which is located in a network volume. UPDATE: I directly edited iPhoto's preference file to point the root folder to the network volume, instead of using a symlink. Comic Life then properly recognized the folder. wesley Posted February 7, 2006 Share Posted February 7, 2006 I checked around and when the bundled Comic Life is installed, it puts a serial number automatically, but it doesn't work with 1.2.2 or older. Does your 'Register' menu have any registration info in it, regardless of program treating it invalid or not? Good catch! Just tried out Comic Life & some games - all fast - VERY fast. I also noticed that a trial version of M$ Office is in the same directory - is it a UniBin? (didn't try that one yet...) Neither of the companies had UniBins of the apps ready for iMac launch. And... yes, if you installed Comic Life correctly it should look like jbacko's screenshot in the registration window. Here's how I did it: 1) Mounted the .dmg 2) In a terminal I cd'd to /Volume/Mac OS X Installation Disk 1/System/Installation/packages/.packages 3) I made a folder on my desktop 4) cp -rp * /User/username/Desktop/Foldername Once the packages are in the folder, I just used the filemanager to doubleclick and open them. In fact I never use that app. If you just extract the .app using Pacifist you won't get the proper serial installed.
