kd7skx
Hello, I was thinking about selling my hackintosh to save up for a macbook. I was thinking about putting it up on ebay, but was wanting some opinions on that idea, since it isn't exactly apple approved install. Don't want to get into any trouble. Anyway, thanks for any thoughts. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/77307-selling-hackintosh/ Share on other sites
Korrupted
Selling a PC is fine. Just remove OSx86 from it. Maybe do the 7zero overpass thing to -really- erase it cleanly. Megamixman
If you own a legal copy of the OS, sell it with the laptop. State that it is a Hack, that there will be no support from Apple due to the fact that it voids ToS, and that if the buyer wishes you could take it off and install something else, such a Linux variant etc. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/77307-selling-hackintosh/#findComment-547367 Share on other sites
A Nonny Moose
Your auction on eBay will be swiftly removed if you put it with OSX86 on it. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/77307-selling-hackintosh/#findComment-548852 Share on other sites
tomazzzi
it s totally illegal to sell a pc with macosx on it, even with an osx license Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/77307-selling-hackintosh/#findComment-549895 Share on other sites
rob356
selling my hackintosh A.K.A. ILLEGAL like tomazzzi said, it is definitely illegal to sell any form of of osx86, licensed or not, because hacking it violates the license. And the license licenses an un-hacked version of the os, not a hacked version. Just wipe the drive and install any other os, that's what I did. To wipe the disk you can use Kill Disk, the free version is very good. ~pcwiz
Yes, thats right. Don't mention its a hackint0sh in the eBay description and don't sell it with OS X installed or with the OSx86 discs . Just say that it "can run OS X" and people who know about OSx86 will get the clue. Or say "try out this project with this computer, it works well" and put a link to osx86project.org. Its not illegal to link to an OSx86 site Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/77307-selling-hackintosh/#findComment-553426 Share on other sites
