does this work on a hackintosh? Theres a PPC and Intel version like the skin packages on other sites, and those dont work on a hackintosh because they check system ID's or something, so this may not work too.

edit: nm it works, at least with EFI. Much cooler looking, especially in Safari

i'm confused, so because 1 app decides to use custom scroll bars apparently the entire OS is not 'unified'? you guys are dumb. the 'normal' aqua bars are unified and also change based on the colour theme you use in the appearance systems-prefs.

Its more unified because of the new look to windows, and other than pop up ok/cancel windows they also got rid of the glossy aqua buttons. Yes it looks stupid with the list view but the list view looks stupid regardless of the scroll bars, those aqua tabs only looked good with brushed metal (and even then they didnt look that good), Apple really neglected the look of lists in Leopard like they didnt think anyone would use it.

Aqua is just a dated look and anything that gets rid of even some of it is a good thing.

where the aqua/glossy look shows up:

-open/save dialogue (bars)

-drop down menus

-sliders

-buttons

-checkboxes

-tabs

ok so thats a quick list i've come up by just looking at system prefs. don't confuse the 'toning down' aqua look removing it. if you've been a osx user at all since public beta, you'd see how each very streamlines aqua and makes it less 'out there' and more refined.

so based on that, itunes is the problem and not the finder (or the rest of the operating system).

But if you change the Appearance to Graphite, it all fits in much better.

Aqua does not go with the new shaded windows. End of story. Thats why it is not unified. Aqua barely went with brushed metal but it looked alright, but it now clashes with the new look to the windows (lists look HORRIBLE, like a completely different theme). The buttons are fine since they arent on the shaded windows, theyre on the traditional light background. The problem is all the aqua that appears with the shaded grey theme.

It has nothing to do with itunes looking different. It has to do 100% with the windows being changed but neglecting the scroll bars.

thats purely an opinion, if you prefer grey, use grey. but the movable/selectable elements should be more pronounced which is the exact reasons for the aqua look on buttons/bars/menus/etc.

its also your opinion that the new unified windows dont look good with aqua, i think they look amazing and i guess apple feels the same way.
